As one of the most anticipated annual celebrity events, for a decade, the Star Magic Ball had no shortage of glitz and glamour. While the guest list had grown every year, certain celebrities were considered “regulars” in the star-studded affair.

They’re the homegrown Star Magic talents who never skipped the occasion. And they’re not the type to come for the sake of attendance, but they make sure to go the extra mile when showing up for The Ball.

Piolo Pascual was introduced as a member of the Star Circle Batch 3 and he shows no sign of leaving Star Magic to this day. This loyalty reflects on his intense support for the talent arm’s activities and events, especially the Star Magic Ball.

As one of the management’s prime artists, Piolo, or Papa P to his adoring fans, had many times been tapped to preside over the program. And with his reputation as the original Crush Ng Bayan, he never disappoints with his handsome looks too, proof is his Best Dressed Award in 2007.When the ball season arrives, spectators also look forward to seeing who the Star Magic artists will b

ring home as their date on the red carpet. In 2008, Piolo arrived with KC Concepcion, with whom he shared the Couple of the Night Award. The following year, he was recognized as one of Star Magic’s Icons.

Piolo can certainly lead the pack of Star Magic artists by setting a dignified standard not only in the name of aesthetic, but more importantly, in carrying the values of passion and loyalty.

Zanjoe Marudo began his acting career after being hailed as the 4th Big Placer of Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 1 in 2006 and has since emerged as one of the most sought-after leading men in the country.

A year after his PBB stint, he walked the first ever Star Magic Ball red carpet in a classic suit, with a spiky hairdo reminiscent of his character in the kiddie superhero series “Super Inggo 1.5: Super Islaw.”

With his tall-dark-and-handsome appeal, Zanjoe can rock any style on the red carpet. It, therefore, doesn’t come as a surprise that he managed to bag several recognitions such as the Male Junior Stardust Award in 2008 and the Most Stylish Award in 2010.

Zanjoe only deviated from his usual black-coat ensembles in 2011 when he donned a silver bowtie to add a pop of color to his OOTN and sported a scruffy-handsome vibe by maintaining his stubble. This show-stopping look earned him an accolade as well.

In the last Star Magic Ball edition in 2017, Zanjoe managed to clinch the Best Dressed Male Award, thanks to his stand-out velvet coat.

A true gentleman that he is, he was never afraid to bring his special someone to the red carpet. When he came to the banquet with Mariel Rodriguez in 2009, he matched her champagne gown with an all-black outfit. They were that year’s Class Chic Couple of the Night.

The Davaoeña beauty Erich Gonzales ried her luck in showbiz by joining ABS-CBN’s reality talent show, Star Circle Quest Season 2, in 2004. She emerged as the winner.

As the Grand Questor, she bagged an exclusive contract with Star Magic, which aided her in chasing her dream career as an actress. This makes Erich a true-blooded Star Magic baby, and she vows to cling to this family.

As validation of her love for the management who helped her rank as one of the country’s brightest stars, she made sure to grace the Star Magic Ball every year.

Erich was already one of ABS-CBN’s fast-rising teen idols when the inaugural Star Magic Ball was held in 2007. With three years of being immersed in the limelight, she already knew how to dress up for such a glittering occasion. But her taste in fashion has further progressed into a bolder and edgier glam game, as if mirroring her conscious choice to embrace change and evolution as an actress – her proverbial metamorphosis.

In the photo strip, you will find Gerald Anderson’s transition from a teenybopper to a serious leading man – red-carpet style. Gerald got his big break in showbiz after joining the first Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition and has since become a household name in the acting department.

And since day one, he’s remained gifted with the ability to charm viewers with his debonair looks, especially on the Star Magic Ball red carpet. He and former reel- and real-life sweetheart Kim Chiu would set the “Prom King and Queen” tone for their contemporaries on the ball. Although the time will come for the two to walk either alone or with new partners on the red carpet, the looks they served will forever be etched in the history of Star Magic Ball.

Gerald got his first Ball accolade in 2010, the Best Dressed Male Award; and bagged a repeat in 2013. Probably one of his favorite Star Magic Ball moments was bringing his niece, Lyra, to walk with him on the red carpet in 2018.

In harmony with her “Chinita Princess” moniker, Kim Chiu’s chinky eyes and penchant for the color pink were the highlight of her Star Magic Ball debut. As years passed, Kim managed to master the art of red-carpet dressing and has become a fashion icon in her own right.

When she graces such a glamorous event, she always offers a stunning look. The Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 1 Big Winner always had a knack for making sure each of her red-carpet appearances is an unforgettable fashion moment, always committed to her style as she is to her career.

In 2011, she took home the “Drop Dead Gorgeous” award, thanks to her pristine, white mermaid dress with sparkling bodice.

At the peak of the Ball, it was hard to imagine Kim and ex-loveteam partner Gerald without each other. The two were the original Prom King and Queen of the iconic gathering. They held the titles of “Unbeatable Tandem” (2008), “Couple of the Night” (2009), and “Best Dressed” (2010).

This year, the ABS-CBN Ball embarks on a new chapter that celebrates stories of gratitude and togetherness shared by the whole Kapamilya community – artists, employees, and collaborators.

Watch out for the grandest showbiz affair of the year! The ABS-CBN Ball 2023 happens on September 30 for the benefit of the ABS-CBN Foundation.
