With her chinita beauty and adorable personality, not to mention impressive versatility as an actress, television host, performer, model, and product endorser, there’s definitely no doubt that It’s Showtime host Kim Chiu is among the most well-loved celebrities in the country at present.

From being “The Chinese Cutie of Cebu City” who initially charmed us as one of pioneer housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 1 and its eventual Big Winner, she has indeed already gone a long way, with hit shows and movies and slew of recognitions from various award-giving bodies under her belt.

Aside from her onscreen stints, we also got to witness her stellar and fabulous transformation through the years via her appearances in the prestigious Star Magic Ball.

She was among the Kapamilya celebrities who were already present in the inaugural edition of Star Magic Ball in 2007. A fresh-faced 17-year-old gal then, she stunned everyone when she paraded in a hot pink floor-length dress with ruffled neckline, which has been her favorite color. She matched it with glistening pink lips, a romantic high bun with ornaments, and silver jewelries.

It was indeed a year of celebrations for her as her teleserye debut Sana Maulit Muli just ended its successful run four months prior to the staging of the glitzy affair, while her first major movie project “I’ve Fallen For You,” opposite fellow PBB alumni-turned-loveteam partner Gerald Anderson, was about to be released the following month.

From something bright and sparkly, Kim then opted for a black halter frock with asymmetrical skirt in 2008, and wore her long mane with bangs and big curls. That complemented the classic tuxedo of her then on-and-off-screen sweetheart Gerald, to whom she shared the “Unbeatable Tandem” award that night.

The following year, she arrived in a one-shoulder tulle cream ball gown with thick satin strap and an ornamented gold ribbon tied around her waist. Making her look extra delicate was her minimal makeup, chignon hair, and dainty accessories. She and Gerald were hailed “Couple of the Night” alongside Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion.

In 2010, she dared to bare more skin by wearing an encrusted white sweetheart gown with heavily embellished bodice and floor-sweeping mesh skirt. She sported a romantic ponytail, minimal makeup, and silver accessories, which made her appear sweet and refined. She and Gerald once again took home an accolade that night – the “Best Dressed” award.

Kim proved that she’s indeed worthy of the “Drop Dead Gorgeous” award bestowed to her in 2011 as she sashayed down the red carpet in an immaculate white mermaid number with bedazzled bodice and tiered skirt.

She opted for a form-fitting white ensemble anew the following year, which had a deep plunging sweetheart neckline, an intricately beaded bodice, and a feathery serpentine skirt. She wore her long wavy locks down, painted her lips red, and silver accessories. She bagged her second Couple of the Night award, but that time with her new onscreen partner Xian Lim.

For the fourth time in a row, she graced the star-studded affair in another white number. With Xian as her prince, she was really a dazzling princess in a ball gown with voluminous skirt, mesh long sleeves, and appliqued bodice with plunging neckline. Thus, there’s no doubt that they were bestowed the Fabulous Pair award in 2013.

In 2014, she was the epitome of elegance as she paraded the red carpet in a form-fitting embroidered black and nude mermaid dress that bared her sexy back. Adding a dash of sophistication to her look was her hair in a chignon, nude makeup, and silver accessories.

She then made heads turn when she arrived in the Star Magic Ball 2015 in an embellished floor-length off-shoulder champagne dress with thigh-high slit. She was splendidly complemented by the bespectacled Xian Lim in a dapper tuxedo, so there’s no wonder that they won their second “Couple of the Night” award together.

For the 2016 edition of the prestigious gathering, Kim appeared in a sleeveless laser-cut sheath black dress with crystal trappings and a tulle cape. She wore her long straight hair down, painted her lips in nude, put on silver jewelries, and glittery black clutch bag.

And for the last staging of the Star Magic Ball in 2017, the Chinita Princess indeed lived up to her moniker as she appeared in a dreamy shimmering champagne ball gown that exposed her décolletage. It had glittery silver appliques that covered her mesh bodice and extended to its voluminous skirt. It also had a pair of mesh sleeves with silver paillettes that matched her silver accessories. Her deep red lips and chignon hair made her look bold and dainty at the same time.
