It has been a month since “The Broken Marriage Vow” premiered (January 25) and the teleserye has already brought us plenty of stunning dialogues that shined both for its content and delivery. Revisit the intense and ‘gigil’-inducing lines from the first four weeks of the trending teleserye via this feature.

“Mamamatay ako na ikaw lang ang mamahalin ko.” As a manipulative husband, David (Zanjoe Marudo) is an expert at flattery. When confronted by Dr. Jill (Jodi Sta Maria) whether or not he’s having an affair, the cheating David managed to erase his wife’s suspicion through rosy promises, ending his lies with his now trademark vow.

“Wala kang makikita kung wala kang hahanapin.” This line graciously uttered by the sophisticated Nathalia (Rachel Alejandro) kept Dr. Jill thinking, as if telling her that the only way to confirm her hunches about David’s extra-marital activities is to investigate. It also didn’t help that Nathalia confidently talked about her capabilities to do snaky things, “Baka ako pa ang magka-affair. Watch out!”

“Tapos na ang panloloko n’yong lahat sa akin. Simula sa araw na ito, hindi mo ito sasabihin kay David dahil ako ang magsasabi kung kailan, saan, at kung paano ko ito tatapusin.”

Jill finally got receipts of David’s adultery and identified his paramour as Lexy (Sue Ramirez), as well as discovered her friends’ betrayal. Confronting her BFF Sandy (Angeli Bayani) for covering up David, Jill declared that she’s no longer taking any of their tricks. She’s decided that she’s turning tables around and taking things in her own hands from then on.

“Hindi lang niya ako teacher, hindi lang niya ako doktor, pareho kaming babae. At wala kang karapatan manakit ng babae.” Seeing the signs of Diane (Jane Oineza)’s sufferings under the hands of the abusive Enzo (Joem Bascon), Jill came to her student’s rescue and gave the abuser a lesson.

Desperate to find evidence for her annulment case, Jill lured Charlie (Ketchup Eusebio) into giving her access to David’s accounting records. She agreed to go on a dinner date with him, then, in the middle of the conversation asked him, “Gusto kong malaman, bakit naghahanap ka pa ng iba kung meron kang perfect and devoted wife na naghihintay sa’yo?”

And we weren’t ready for the expert womanizer’s ‘gigil’ response, “Monogamy is overrated. Hindi ako naniniwala na dapat sa isa ka lang. Kung meron ka namang mga chances sa iba, magkaroon ng iba-iba, why not? Sayang naman ‘di ba?”

Jill had double shock in this next scene. First, she learned that her mother-in-law Marina (Susan Africa) knew about David’s affair all along. And the ultimate shock is that the relationship has been going on for two years already. Then, trying to convince the wife to fix her son’s mess, Marina told Jill, “Mag-asawa kayo, kaya n’yo pang ayusin ang problemang ito. At tayong mga ina, asawa, babae ang aayos ng ganitong problema,” to which Jill replied, “Hindi ako ang sumira ng pamilyang ito.”

‘Enablers’ are everywhere but at some point, Justin (Migs Almendras) tried to enlighten Lexy about falling victim to David’s false promises. “Hanggang kailan ka ba talaga magpapaloko? Kahit mamuti ang mata mo, hinding-hindi iiwanan ni David ang pamilya niya para sa’yo,” he told her.

The wife and the mistress came face-to-face in a recent episode. Lexy, who just came back in the Philippines after undergoing abortion, bumped into Jill at the supermarket and probed into the rumors about the doctor. The conversation went a little feisty, infused with striking innuendos, which Jill ended with, “Naniniwala ako na ang mga walang kwentang bagay tulad ng panloloko sa kapwa will eventually and naturally die down.”

Here’s Nathalia giving some sparkling but real piece of advice about men’s fantasy. She was at Jill’s clinic asking for clearance for a botox and bust lift procedure, to which Jill reacted, “Kailangan mo ba talaga? Napakaganda mo na?”

Nathalia replied, “The problem is hindi naman lahat ganyan ang ang iniisip. Remember, men are obsessed with youth. They want someone na mas fresh, mas bata, aggressive, matapang. Tayong mga misis, if we want to keep them interested, we have to make the effort, ‘di ba?”

We know you hate Sandy for keeping the truth from Jill and helping David sneak out even, and for her occasional annoying statements, but there was one moment she said the right thing. “Kahit kailan, hindi pwedeng sinasabay-sabay ang babae. Kay Jill ka nag-commit sa kanya ka dapat mag-stick.”

David’s response, though, was nothing but selfish and super ‘nakakagigil.’ “May nabibigay sa akin si Lexy na wala kay Jill at may nabibigay sa akin si Jill na wala kay Lexy. Ayoko sila parehong mawala.”

Watch out for more mesmerizing ‘linyahan’ in The Broken Marriage Vow, weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
