“Un/Happy For You” is the ultimate closure movie we didn’t know we needed!

Audiences worldwide have been left awestruck by Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia’s emotionally powerful performances as Zy and Juancho, respectively, ex-lovers whose paths cross again at the place where they first met.

From the very first teaser to their fun behind-the-scenes moments, the electricity between Julia and Joshua is undeniable. It’s no wonder their chemistry is the talk of the town — in a film that tackles what it means to grow, heal, and, sometimes, let go.

Andrea Brillantes reacted: “Ang dami mong matututunan sa movie na pwede mong i-apply sa next relationship mo or kung naghi-heal ka pa.”

And if you’ve ever been in a relationship that’s left you feeling a mix of emotions, this movie is going to hit home for you.

Bianca Gonzalez put it perfectly: “Ang ganda nung timpla nung heartbreak pero love pero happy pero sad.”

Iza Calzado, who’s been a fan of the Joshua and Julia tandem for ages, had this to admit: “Emotionally invested ako talaga sa JoshLia. Hahanga kayo sa kanila dahil dito.”

Ina Raymundo, who worked with Julia and Joshua in “Block Z”, also gave the two lead stars major props: “Napaka-mature ng atake ng role. Grabe ‘yung growth nilang dalawa.”

When asked whose side she’s on between Julia and Joshua’s characters, Julia’s sister Dani Barretto answered, “Team Zy kami. May reason kung bakit s’ya nang-iwan. So, ‘wag tayo masyado mag-judge.”

Then there’s Arci Muñoz, who shared her experience watching the movie: “Towards the end of the movie, I saw everyone crying. Pareho kang magsi-sympathize sa parehong characters.”

Another thing that makes this movie special is that you might just end up rooting not just for one character, but for both of them!

“Sparks Camp” host Mela Habijan emphasized, “Importante malaman ‘yung context. Bakit may iniwan? Bakit may nang-iwan?”

Viewers have been just as vocal of their main takeaways from Zy and Juancho’s story, with one saying, “Oo, love is nice, but it is also nice to grow as a person.”

Another added, “It’s okay to put yourself first, especially if you’re hurting already.”

And in case you need more convincing, one fan had this recommendation: “Panoorin n’yo, lalong lalo na sa mga may ex na walang closure ‘yung mga breakups.”

Un/Happy For You” is still showing and going strong in theaters, now on its third week! If you’ve ever needed closure, or just a good cry, this movie is your definite must-see!
