Star Cinema’s biggest stars of 2023 shone bright at this year’s edition of the Box Office Entertainment Awards, and we couldn’t be prouder!

Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, the powerhouse couple who made history in the record-breaking film “Rewind”, have once again claimed the spotlight, this time at the Box Office Entertainment Awards held last May 12 at the Henry Lee Theater, Ateneo de Manila University.

DongYan took home not one but two of the most coveted titles — “Box-Office Phenomenal Stars of Philippine Cinema” and “Most Popular Loveteam for Movies” which solidify their reign as the ultimate power couple of the silver screen.

“Rewind” continued to make waves throughout the night with Dingdong being hailed Film Actor of the Year; Mae Cruz-Alviar being awarded Most Popular Film Director; Enrico Santos earning Most Popular Screenwriter; and APT Entertainment, Agosto Dos Pictures, and Star Cinema bagging Most Popular Film Producer.

Pivoting to another dynamic duo, the 2024 Box Office King and Queen have been officially crowned — and they’re none other than Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo!

Kathryn was honored as the Box Office Queen for her captivating role in “A Very Good Girl”, sharing the screen with Hollywood’s rising star, Dolly De Leon. Meanwhile, Alden Richards ascended to the throne of Box Office King, lauded for his compelling portrayal in the romance-drama “Five Breakups and a Romance”, where he stars alongside Julia Montes for the first time.

Remember the record-breaking film “Hello, Love, Goodbye” from 2019? That was Alden and Kathryn’s enduring triumph in Philippine cinema, reigning as the highest-grossing Filipino movie until “Rewind” rewrote the box office history books earlier this year.
