The chemistry of this group is top-tier!

The students of Northford High — Andrea Brillantes, Kyle Echarri, Zaijian Jaranilla, Xyriel Manabat, JK Labajo, Elijah Canlas, Gela Atayde, and Daniela Stranner — might be keeping secrets that make them too dangerous to get close to. But in real life, they’re the kind of barkada you’d love to be part of.
They add color to each other’s lives, making taping days enjoyable amid the intense scenes and preparations. Check out their in-between-takes ‘kulitan’ as captured on Andrea’s recent vlog.

The video opens with Andrea training JK on how to become a vlogger. Then, they directed Elijah in an impromptu acting session. Andrea would go around the set to mingle with her co-artists. There were tons of singing, playful acting, and joking as if they were characters in a musical. Now we know, that’s how a bunch of talented youngsters spend their downtime.

Thanks to Andrea’s behind-the-scene vlog, we learn how the production creates intricate scenes such as Luna (Andrea) falling off the campus building. Andrea wore a harness as she acted in front of a green board, pretending to be falling off a building.

The best thing about the young actress is that she dives deep into every scene, never complacent, but eager for perfection. She asked for a retake, thinking she failed to execute the scene as how she envisioned it. Besides, she considers her co-actors’ performance too.

“Napanood ko kasi ‘yung scene na kasunod nito. Si Tita Sylvia [Sanchez], parang napatingin lang siya kasi may biglang may [bumagsak]. So, it wouldn’t make sense If I was screaming, she said. “’Yung nakunan na scene is lumingon lang siya nu’ng meron nang nalaglag sa sahig.”

Thus, she asked for a retake and coated her face with quiet fear rather than shriek in panic as she did in the previous shot. The director agreed, which goes to show the team’s solid collaboration.

We also got a preview of how they shot Andrea and Daniela’s fight inside the ladies’ room, which was caught on Sky’s mobile phone. Thus, they only used a cell phone instead of professional cameras. Director Onat Diaz couldn’t preview the scene on a monitor, so he must trust that the young actresses could pull it off by themselves. We see how each slap and hair-pulling was choreographed, so to avoid accidents. Here, Daniela carries the scene while making sure not to hurt Andrea for real, while the latter reacts to what her co-actress gives.

More cute moments happened, like Elijah getting a birthday surprise, Kyle and Andrea chatting while waiting for their next set at 1 a.m., Zaijian running to his guy friends for a hug as if they really missed each other. The more senior actors Baron Geisler, Mon Confiado, and Sylvia Sanchez appeared in the vlog too.
