Piolo talks about Coco, Kyle & Grae

The explosive surprises just keep coming—from unexpected twists to highly awaited revelations, plus the action scenes are getting even more intense in “Pamilya Sagrado,” headlined by Piolo Pascual, alongside new breed of action-drama heroes Kyle Echarri and Grae Fernandez. And when the show brings in none other than today’s Primetime King and “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” torchbearer, Coco Martin, to direct its stunts and fight sequences, you know things are about to get even more epic.

With the immersive acting of the “Pamilya Sagrado” cast coupled with Coco’s gritty style of directing, we can only expect a cinematic synergy that will have us hooked and sitting on the edge of our seats!

One of the most excited about this collaboration is Piolo himself, who has long been a fan of Coco. He even shared that there was a time on set when he couldn’t help but observe Coco in action, amazed by how he could direct and act simultaneously. “Because that’s something I cannot do,” Piolo admitted.

Grabe ‘yung intensity ni Coco. Grabe ‘yung commitment niya. He read the script before he came. He was on the set kahit wala siyang tulog. Nag-o-overtime kami. ‘Yung pagmamahal niya sa craft, ‘yung pagmamahal niya sa trabaho, nakaka-impress kasi he’s not doing it to impress people but to contribute to the betterment of the show,” he said, praising his ‘brother’ in the Dreamscape family. Both of their ongoing shows are produced by Dreamscape Entertainment.

Piolo also noticed that Coco naturally earns everyone’s respect, thanks to his strong work ethic. “Mahal niya ‘yung industriya kaya nakakatuwa because hindi ka ma-i-intimidate sa kanya. Matutuwa ka sa kanya kasi ang dami niyang contribution na collaborative. And at the same time, alam mong very passionate siya sa ginagawa niya.

I was so impressed,” Piolo stated. “That’s why he’s there. That’s why he’s the Primetime King. That’s why he’s Coco Martin.”

With 25 stellar years in showbiz, Piolo knows dedication when he spots it, and he definitely sees that in his younger co-stars, Kyle and Grae, as well. The truth is, so much of Kyle’s grit resonates with him. “I see so much of myself in him because alam niya ‘yung gusto niya. Alam niya ang gusto niyang gawin, and he is not scared to take on the challenge.” The two are under the same management and have also worked on a project together before “Pamilya Sagrado.”

Piolo feels the same way about Grae, whom he’s seen grow in the industry since they used to share the same handler, even though this is their first time working together. He notices how Grae gives his all and is dedicated to his role, clearly putting in the effort to study and improve his craft.

As the more senior one, he’s eager to support this new generation of actors—not necessarily by giving them advice or tips but by leading by example and inspiring them to keep pushing themselves to be better.
