Viewers of Mars Ravelo’s Darna were dumbfounded when Regina/Valentina (Janella Salvador)’s character died in an explosion in last week’s episode. The question now is: Will she resurrect with even deadlier venom and vengeance? As we anticipate the next events in the series, let us look back on Valentina’s evillest deeds in Nueva Esperanza via this Kapamilya Toplist.

All Regina wanted in the beginning was to be exalted as the hero. However, jealousy and rage pushed her to love than despise the snakes on her head. When Darna (Jane de Leon) stole the spotlight at the Nueva Esperanza Charity Ball, the impulse was so strong Regina accidentally revealed her alter-ego in front of the crowd. The snake was finally out.

The public hate all the more turned Regina’s heart into a dark, rotten piece. She slithers across the streets of Nueva Esperanza, victimizing innocent people, especially those who fear her as a monster. Darna would arrive each time, resulting in fantastic action.

The predator didn’t miss her chance to scare the acting mayor of Nueva Esperanza. It can be recalled that as Regina, one of her causes was to expose corruption. In this scene, Valentina erupted into full-blown beast mode when Darna came to stop her. She criticized the hero’s self-righteousness and for always trying to steal the spotlight.

There was also a scene where she attacked at the police station and killed a fraction of Brian’s Task Force using her venom, which caused foaming at her victims’ mouths. Though nocturnal by nature, the snake woman can attack in broad daylight. In another scene, she spread terror in a public park where two people dressed as Darna and Valentina staged a theatrical show. The show-stealer toyed with everyone, commanding the fake Valentina to torture the fake Darna.

Valentina attacks even those she formerly loved including Brian (Joshua Garcia). It is worth noting, though, that her motivation for wanting to kill Brian was to protect her best friend Narda (Jane de Leon), thinking Brian was cheating with Darna. The Serpent Queen commanded her snake tentacles to smother Brian but Darna came to the rescue.

With that incident, even her erstwhile best friend Narda became the subject of her wrath. She slithered into Narda’s neighborhood to scare people but backed off because of Narda’s superhuman strength. The next time she did it, the residents came prepared with weapons and fight skills they picked up from Narda’s free training. The third attack, which came after Valentina witnessed Narda pushing her father down the cliff, was a lot deadlier. Valentina’s snakes scattered all over the place. Fortunately, the residents cheated death with the help of Lolo Rolando (Levi Ignacio), who came with a chemical that caused lacerations on Valentina’s skin. She backed off and went to her hideout to restore her body.

It seemed only Narda’s death could appease Valentina’s internal struggle. Motivated by vengeance, she used Ding (Zaijian Jaranilla) as a lure against Narda, who, much to her shock, transformed into Darna right in front of her. Flashbacks of their friendship tapped into her vulnerability. She got so weak she let go of Ding and transformed back into Regina, crying over her best friend’s betrayal. This would be the last time Narda will see Regina in the flesh as the latter died in an explosion created by Borgo (Richard Quan)’s Super Soldiers.

As hinted in the teasers, Borgo escalates his plan to conquer the human planet by assembling his villain squad, while Valentina will rise – deadlier than ever.

Don’t miss the episodes of Mars Ravelo’s Darna, weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
