Rigor & David vs Tanggol Batang Quiapo

One villain tormenting Tanggol (Coco Martin) is infuriating enough, but adding another one into the mix would certainly raise our ‘gigil’ further. That’s what we feel watching the evil father-and-son duo of Rigor (John Estrada) and David (McCoy de Leon) team up to make Tanggol’s life a living hell in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.”

In the Dimaguiba abode, David feels he owns the throne as the most powerful family member next to the king, his father. In one scene, he snitched on Tanggol without even knowing the whole story behind a recent street riot the latter got into. He would gripe to Rigor about what happened, knowing that his brother would be punished for it.

One morning, Rigor noticed Tanggol’s wound, so he cruelly stomped on it and unleashed a brutal beating. David smirked in satisfaction and then berated Tanggol for allegedly causing trouble yet again. Only Tindeng (Charo Santos) listened to Tanggol’s side and believed his explanation that he had been injured while saving a lady from a robber.

In another scene, Tanggol mauled David for stealing his money, leading to an intense clash within the family home as David tweaked the incident to gain Rigor’s sympathy. Carrying his firearm, Rigor chased Tanggol around their neighborhood and made sure he wouldn’t dare return home.

With the cunning of a devil, David urged his father to heed Tindeng and Marites (Cherry Pie Picache)'s pleas for Tanggol's assistance with the illegal drugs he inadvertently possessed. David orchestrated a deceitful plan, persuading Rigor to agree to the arrangement without disclosing their true intentions—to arrest Tanggol once he surrenders the drugs to higher authorities. This scheme not only allowed Rigor to appear commendable but also provided them an opportunity for revenge by sending Tanggol to jail.

Even after successfully incarcerating Tanggol, David continued to manipulate his father by portraying himself as the victim. He claimed to have visited Tanggol in jail, then fabricated stories saying that Tanggol showed arrogance and threatened to harm them once he gets out of prison.

Just imagine their fury when Tanggol was at last released from the correctional facility. His return to their house turned tragic as Rigor and David teamed up to assault him, both brandishing their guns as Tanggol lay on the ground bloodied and helpless.
