The previous week’s episodes of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo delighted us those filled our every night with drama, romance, gigil, and even laughter.

Even though decades had already passed, her traumatic experience that she had in the hands of the nasty Ramon Montenegro (Christopher de Leon) continues to haunt Tess (Cherry Pie Picache), especially that the Feast of the Black Nazarene arrives anew. But the same goes to Ramon, who also despises this day as it marked the moment when he lost his freedom and the opportunity to be a husband a father after he got fatally shot by Rigor (John Estrada) and imprisoned.

Primo (Lito Lapid) and his friends carried out their plan of taking out Amanda (Lorna Tolentino) from the hospital by wearing various disguises again. Lucio (Ronnie Lazaro) and Yolly (Deborah Sun) took on the role of kitchen staff in-charge of delivering the food of patients, including Amanda. They discovered that Amanda was transferred to another room, which was manned by the henchmen of Augustus (Julio Diaz) spearheaded by Mulong (Val Iglesias), since most of his police officers were assigned at the Quiapo festivities.

In order for them to finally take away Amanda, Primo distracted everyone in the hospital, including the henchmen of Augustus, by making an ambulance explode. This enabled Primo to get inside her room and singlehandedly toppled down those who remained to guard her, until he’s able to eventually rescue her. Primo and Amanda, along with their friends had managed to escape, which truly enraged and devastated Augustus.

After accomplishing their mission, Bubbles (Ivana Alawi) wasn’t able to hide how smitten she is by Tanggol (Coco Martin) during her conversation with her friends Ibyang (Lotlot Bustamante) and Becky (Donna Cariaga). This left her reminiscing about the kilig moments she had with him, as well as dreaming about having an intimate moment with him.

Tanggol relayed to his friends that Chief Espinas (Jaclyn Jose) gave him another mission, which is to kill the Red Phoenix Group the following day, and he would be bringing them with him as he sees it as an opportunity for them to escape. Meanwhile, with regard to their friend Oweng (Renz Joshua "Baby Giant" Baña), they would just get him once they manage to escape. Little they did know that their elderly prison mates, led by their mayor Celso (Soliman Cruz), noticed them and he immediately reported it to Chief Espinas.

Bong and his group were finally discharged from the infirmary and brought back to their cell, while Oweng was taken to a special room instead, with Chief Espinas telling him that it’s for him to recuperate faster than being returned to the cell with his friends. Unbeknown to him, he would be brought to the isolation cell and Chief Espinas would just use him as bait to make Tanggol’s group to follow her orders. Bong warned that he would instigate a riot inside the prison

Despite all the evidences presented to him and Don Julio’s (Tommy Abuel) claim that he feels in his heart that he is indeed his estranged son, Ramon confessed that he’s actually not 100% convinced yet that David (McCoy de Leon). But Olga (Irma Adlawan) reminded him how “Tanggol” has never taken advantage of them as he kept on refusing everything that they offered him, including one of their ventures. He eventually gave in and agreed to introduce him to their investors and business partners.

Rigor related to Lena (Mercedes Cabral) that Mando (Allan Paule) already discovered their illicit affair, which was brought after Rigor expressed to Mando how the past continues to take a toll on him as it still makes him feel betrayed and cheated on. Thus, Rigor told Lena that they must distance themselves from each other for the meantime in order to not put their jobs in jeopardy, especially his name in a bad light.

While the Dimaculangans were busy distributing their grocery packages to the people of Quiapo, Tess, Tindeng (Charo Santos), and Noy (Lou Veloso) arrived as Noy attempted to take one for them. But Marites and Tindeng stopped him because aside from they would surely want them to feel indebted to them, they also basically did it out of their hatred against Mokang because of what happened to Tanggol. Mokang tried to ask for their forgiveness, which resulted in a confrontation with Tindeng as the latter reminded the former of everything that her grandson did for her ever since they were kids. It can be recalled that Tanggol was compelled to steal money along with his friends in pursuit of helping her with the hospital bills of her father, which led to their incarceration.

Just when Tanggol and his friends thought that their escape plan is all set, Chief Espinas foiled it by reminding them that the lives of their friends Oweng and Ben (Mark Lapid) are going to be in danger once they push through with their plans.

Comments from netizens
The previous week’s episodes of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo was filled with dramatic, comedic, and romantic (and even irritating) scenes that still succeeded in stirring us.

We were immediately treated to a kilig and exciting steamy scene between Bubbles and Tanggol just on the first episode of the past week, which turned out to be just a dream of Bubbles. It was an enough hint for some viewer that we’re off to have an exhilarating week.

For the umpteenth time, we’d found ourselves gigil over some of the characters. We were annoyed by David with how he continues to mistreat Camille (Yukii Takahashi), by Olga with how she’s able to trick her brother Ramon again into believing that David is indeed his estranged son Tanggol, and by Marcing and Nita because of how they have gone arrogant after becoming instantly rich.

Viewers were also delighted when Mando gave Rigor some “real talk” as he expressed how still angry he is about what happened to their family decades ago, and how difficult it is to move on from it. But Mando reminded him that it was Marites who’s suffering more between them since it was her who got assaulted, and he is being selfish and egotistic for seeing himself as a victim as well.

We were also astounded by the performance of Charo Santos during her confrontation scene with Lovi Poe because even though she’s known in real life to be soft-spoken, she’s able to show the fury of her character with the way she looked and delivered her lines, totally full of pain and abhorrence. At the same time, we were also impressed by the dramatic portrayal of Lovi.

Besides, we were able to relate, as well, with the thought-provoking statement of Marites to Mokang, which is, “Sana bago mo sabihin na hindi mo ginusto, isipin mo, alam mo naman na sa buhay lahat may pagpipilian.”

Below are the comments from netizens that we’re able to see on social media:
