In “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” viewers are treated to a vibrant backdrop of locations around Manila and its neighboring areas, from narrow alleys and streets to grand mansions and secluded spots. Of course, the iconic façade of Quiapo Church is a standout feature.

But, one particularly intriguing set is the custom-built floating house owned by Lito Camo’s character. This unique location served as a temporary refuge for Coco Martin’s Tanggol, along with Bubbles (Ivana Alawi) and her family, after their home was brutally attacked by Pablo's (Elijah Canlas) gang.

Interestingly, this location holds sentimental value for Coco. He fondly recalled in a set tour video, “Isa ‘to sa mga paboritong locations ko kasi nagsimula ako dito sa location na ‘to, ‘Tayong Dalawa days.” For those who remember, this very spot was where the characters played by Coco, Gerald Anderson, and Cherry Pie Picache resided in “Tayong Dalawa.”

Fans of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” will also recall this location as the hideout of the Agilas.

When Coco and his team returned to this site for “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” they found the house in disrepair due to a previous fire. Extensive repairs were necessary to restore it to its former state, ensuring it could support the considerable weight of both people and equipment. With a large team on set and heavy equipment like cameras being brought in, reinforcing the structure to handle the load was crucial.

This only proved Coco's keen eye and skill as a director, much of which was sharpened through his experiences in indie filmmaking. He recalled how, during his indie film days, he admired the ability of production teams to scout out cinematic locations that were both visually stunning and free to use, much like the custom-built set created for the series.

Additionally, Coco feels a deep sense of nostalgia and comfort at this location, as it evokes memories of his simple childhood. “Alam mo, no’ng bata ako, batang ilog din ako,” he chuckled, reminiscing about his past.

Kapamilya, what's your favorite location in "FPJ’s Batang Quiapo"?
