ASAP Natin To Idol Fever

The latest episode of ASAP Natin ‘To on Sunday, September 11, was indeed brimming with world-class talents as not only our favorite ASAP homies entertained us with their marvelous performances, but proudly Pinoy and Kapamilya artists who already made headlines in the international scene as well! Thus, making #ASAPIdolFever a befitting hashtag for it!

Robi Domingo, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, and Darren Espanto kicked off the Sunday afternoon concert party with a vivacious intro as the ASAP family sang and grooved to CHIC’s “Everybody Dance”.

Asia's Songbird Regine, Janine Berdin, FANA, and Gigi De Lana were the ones to break off from the flock as they rocked the ASAP stage with “Heart of Glass” by Blondie. Alexa Ilacad, Sheena Belarmino, and Morissette then hyped us up with another CHIC hit “Le Freak.”

Elha Nympha, Anji Salvacion, and Zsa Zsa Padilla then sang “Got To Be Real” by Cheryl Lynn, while crooners Erik Santos, Darren, Nyoy Volante, and Jason Dy busted some of the grooves they got in their version of “Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel” by Tavares.

Gary Valenciano and Ogie Alcasid reprised the opening song and were joined by the pairs of Darren and Chie Filomeno, Enchong Dee and Maymay Entrata, Jin Macapagal and Vivoree, Jeremy Glinoga and Krystal Brimner, Jameson Blake and AC Bonifacio, Joao Constancia and Karina Bautista, who gave us zestful dance breaks in between the previous song numbers. Pinoy pop group BINI also joined the extravaganza, which was followed by the rest of the ASAP homies who returned onstage to capped off the disco-inspired production number.

ASAP Natin ‘To celebrated Idol Philippines Season 2 hopefuls’ (Ann Raniel, Bryan Chong, Delly Cuales, Khimo Gumatay, Kice, and Ryssi Avila) dreams and exceptional talents through their performances with our very own All-star Kapamilya singing champions.

Idol Philippines Season 2 judges Regine and Gary V, along with Koro Jesu, commenced the segment by belting out the “The Greatest Showman” OST “A Million Dreams,” which was followed by three sets of the singing champions performing other popular tracks from the said blockbuster Hollywood movie.

Jed Madela, JM Yosures, Anji Salvacion, and Elha Nympha electrified us with their rendition of “Come Alive”; Kris Lawrence surely delighted us with his comeback on ASAP as he performed “From Now On” with Janine Berdin, Klarisse de Guzman, and Reiven Umali; while and Erik Santos, Kyla, Laine, Jason Dy, and Frenchie Dy were truly glorious as they sang “This Is Me”.

“Astig na Bokalista from Isabela” Delly was the first one to rock the stage with Juana Cosme’s “Basang Sisiw”, followed by “Soulful Music Man from Makati” Khimo with his ballad rendition of “Tala” by Sarah Geronimo. “Suaveng Musician from Guimaras” Kice made us kilig with Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely”, while “Sultry Diva from Laguna” Ann Raniel impressed us with Sarah G’s “Ikot-Ikot”. “Heartfelt Songstress from Cavite” Ryssi moved us with her mellow take on “Nakapagtataka” by Apo Hiking Society, while “Versatile Singer from Pampanga” Bryan serenaded us with Rob Deniel’s “Ulap”.

The stellar segment wrapped up with the Asia’s Songbird and Mr. Pure Energy performing “This Is The Greatest Show” altogether with the aforementioned singers onstage.

Indeed, the “idol fever” was on in this ASAP Natin ‘To episode as two idol girl groups went back-to-back in giving us world-class performances – the nation’s girl group BINI and Korean pop rookie girl group Lapillus.

BINI was the first one to conquer the stage as they danced to ENHYPHEN’s “FEVER”, which was succeeded by Lapillus who performed their debut single “HIT YA!”. Darren and Enchong then gave out bouquets of flowers and interviewed its six members Shana, Haeun, Seowon, Yue, Bessie, and former Kapamilya actress Chanty.

From one world-class talent to another, international pop urban artist and star of upcoming Hollywood series “Monarch” Iñigo Pascual also celebrated his birthday by singing and dancing to “Bad Decisions” by BTS, Benny Blanco, and Snoop Dogg. He was joined onstage by Darren, AC, Jin, Jameson, Jeremy, and Joao Constancia.

On a rare occasion, Concert King Martin Nievera and Flower of Evil leading lady Lovi Poe then made our Sunday afternoon extra scorching with their sultry duet of Peggy Lee’s classic hit “Fever”, and groovy performance of Frank Sinatra’s “Sway.” It was succeeded by the appearance of Carlo Aquino and Julia Barretto to promote their much-awaited film “Expensive Candy” by performing ALAMAT’s “Sa Panaginip Na Lang.”

After the pangmalakasang number of Asia’s Phoenix Morissette featuring her first-ever Bisaya single “Undangon Ta Ni”, Maymay and Chie then took the stage for their invigorating and feisty clash dance.

The episode concluded with the “The Greatest Showdown” segment, wherein our well-loved singing idols made us reminisce about the Kapamilya teleseryes through the years by singing their theme songs.

Gary V and Jed Madela started off with “Hanggang Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan” from the Coco Martin and Julia Montes-starrer Walang Hanggan  (2012), followed by Zsa Zsa and Erik’s duet of  Init Sa Magdamag from the 2021 series of the same title. Ogie and Kyla then swooned us with “Ikaw Ang Aking Mahal” from The General’s Daughter (2019), while Darren and Gigi performed “Akin Ka Na Lang” from A Family Affair.  Powerbelters Regine and Morissette made sure to end not just the segment, but the episode as a whole, with a bang with their powerful performance of “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw” from The Broken Marriage Vow (2022).
