ASAP Natin ‘To enthralls viewers with enchanting performances in #MagicalASAP

Just like what Martin Nievera said in the beginning of ASAP Natin ‘To episode on Sunday, October 2, it was indeed a party filled with enchanted voices and captivating performances as our favorite Kapamilya artists mesmerized us anew with their vocal and dancing talents.

Martin, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, and Robi Domingo commenced the #MagicalASAP episode with their enthusiastic intro, teasing us on the exciting numbers that we should out for that afternoon. Former Pilipinas Got Talent finalist and magician Alakim kicked off the opening salvo with a playing cards trick and gave the spotlight to Kim Chiu, who stunned us in her flouncy purple dress as she did a little aerial hoop dance.

Regine, Klarisse de Guzman, and Zsa Zsa Padilla then emerged on the stage to sing “Illusion” by Imagination, which was followed by an exhilarating dance break from dancefloor hotties Jameson Blake, Jeremy Glinoga, Joao Constancia, and Jin Macapagal.

Ogie Alcasid started off his duet with Erik Santos of “Abracadabra” by Steve Miller Band, through attempting to do a simple magic trick. AC Bonifacio, Francine Diaz, and MNL48 got us smitten by their beauty and talent as they performed Little Mix’s “Black Magic”, while Darren Espanto proved that he’s indeed “D’ Total Performer” as he sang and danced to “Magic” by B.o.B.

The ravishing trio of Janine Berdin, Alexa Ilacad, and Sheena Belarmino then enticed us with rendition of “Circus” by Britney Spears, to which Chie Filomeno exhibited her sexy dance moves. Capping off the opening set were Enchong Dee and Martin, who were later on joined by the ASAP homies, as they made us bop to “Sometimes A Fantasy” by Billy Joel.

Aside from Alakim’s awesome magic tricks that he demonstrated in almost every part of the opening number, Kristel de Catalina and Jamaica Jornacion also amazed us with their breathtaking aerial dance routines.

After their segment was launched in the previous episode, Rockoustic Heartthrobs KD Estrada and KICE surely made a lot of girls (and girls at heart!) with their flawless mash-up of Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” and The Vamps’ “Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart).”

Chinita Princess Kim Chiu then proved that she is indeed “ASAP’s Queen of the Dancefloor” via her fiery dance number. From one queen to another, “Queen of Hugot Songs” Moira Dela Torre then serenaded us with her LSS-inducing hit song “Babalik Sa’Yo,” which is also the OST of the well-loved Kapamilya primetime series 2 Good 2 Be True topbilled by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

P-Pop girl group BINI took on the stage to encourage us to confidently be ourselves and be optimistic in life through their latest collaboration with fast-rising rapper Kritiko titled “B HU U R”.

They were followed by the soothing performance of another group of talented and gorgeous young women comprised by Alexa, Belle Mariano, Maymay Entrata, and Anji Salvacion, who sang “Cool With You” by Jennifer Love Hewitt, “You Were Meant For Me” by Jewel, and “Sunny Came Home” by Shawn Colvin, together with veteran divas Zsa Zsa and Regine.

The ASAP family, of course, didn’t forget to pay tribute to one of its former regular performers and beloved ASAP Sessionistas, Ice Seguerra, as he marks his 35th anniversary in the industry this year. Thus, Martin, Ogie, and Darren, together with Idol Philippines Season 2 finalists Bryan Chong, Ann Raniel, Ryssi Avila, and Drei Sugay performed his iconic “Pagdating ng Panahon.” Ice, himself, then appeared onstage to sing another hit track “Akala Mo.”

When asked by the Concert King how he feels about reaching this milestone, the multi-faceted artist retorted, “It feels surreal pa rin, Kuya Marts. You know, it was never a dream kasi to be part of this industry. So, to be here in this industry and to have beautiful friendship and relationships with everyone is amazing for me.

As Darren asked for his advice for new breeds of singers, such as the Idol PH Season 2 alumni who he also mentored during the contest’s run, Ice stated, “Masasabi ko is, you know, what you have is talent. But you know, talent, dapat ‘yan ninu-nurture. So, put in the work. And number two, ‘yong ulo n’yo huwag lilipad, dapat laging nasa lupa. Treat everyone with respect, with love, with care. Feeling ko, if you’re able to balance that then, yeah.” He the invited everyone to join him in his upcoming anniversary concert.

The gregarious cast of the newest iWantTFC original series Tara G!,comprised by Anthony Jennings, Kaori Oinuma, CJ Salonga, Daniela Stranner, JC Alcantara, Zach Castañeda, and Vivoree Esclito, then dominated the stage as they grooved to their show’s OST Tara G!  performed by OPM band The Juans.

After the Asia’s Phoenix Morissette and Rock Icon Bamboo impressed us with their duet of Nirvana’s “All Apologies”, another set of OPM icons, hitmakers, and singers astounded us with their powerful collabs in the all-time favorite segment “The Greatest Showdown”.

Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano and JM Yusores started it off with their version of “Rainbow’s End” by Sergio Mendes. Concert King Martin and Idol PH Season 2 grand winner Khimo Gumatay then sang their version of “One Hundred Ways” by Quincy Jones.

Klarisse and premiere singer-songwriter Ogie then performed a duet of “Baby, Come To Me” by James Ingram, which was followed by Jason Dy and Divine Diva Zsa Zsa’s cover of “It’s You” by Dionne Warwick. Erik Santos and Elaine Duran also gave us their awesome take on “On My Own” by Patti LaBelle.

Last, but definitely not the least, is Jed Madela, who probably got us singing along as he belted out his currently trending hit “Forevermore” opposite Asia’s Songbird Regine.
