As we all know, as the “Ber months” officially starts this September, this also marks the beginning of Christmas season here in the Philippines. Thus, ASAP Natin ‘To already kicked off the merriments by decking the stage with Yuletide decorations and offering us another spectacular extravaganza on Sunday, September 4.
Tagged #ASAPBerMonthsNa, the show commenced with an enthusiastic intro from the vivacious trio of Kim Chiu, Robi Domingo, and Enchong Dee. OPM icons Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Ogie Alcasid, and Gary Valenciano, along with Koro Jesu Choir, led the opening number with their mellifluous rendition of APO Hiking Society’s “Himig Ng Pasko”.
It was followed by a lively song and dance production from Sheena Belarmino and Darren Espanto of “Ako Ang Nauna (Bumati ng Merry Christmas)” and of Zsa Zsa and Kim’s duet of “Kumukutikutitap”, to which the Chinita Princess grooved to as well.
Anji Salvacion, Klarisse de Guzman, and Ogie further made the vibe joyous as they sang “Paskong Anong Saya”, while the group of Vivoree Esclito, Karina Bautista, Krystal Brimner, Jin Macapagal, Jeremy Glinoga, Jameson Blake, Joao Constancia, and Edward Barber vibe along with them and then bust their moves.
Maymay Entrata, Alexa Ilacad, Janine Berdin, and Elha Nympha channeled the inner Sexbomb in them as they performed “Pikpiripikpik (Busina ng Pasko)” with Chie Filomeno joining them afterwards by showing us a sultry dance routine. BGYO and BINI surely delighted Aces and Blooms when they joined forces to greet us a “Maligayang Pasko” in advance with their lively performance of a Filipino Christmas song.
Jason Dy, Nyoy Volante, and Gigi de Lana further hyped the viewers up as they sang “Pasko Sa Pinas”, with Enchong and AC Bonifacio providing the dance break. Regine and Gary returned to the stage to sing “Tuloy Na Tuloy Pa Rin Ang Pasko” and was joined afterwards by the rest of the ASAP fambam.
After greeting the viewers and teasing us with the performances that we must look forward to in this episode, Mr. Pure Energy Gary V announced that ASAP is going to have a live show in Las Vegas, Nevada that will be held on November 5, 2022 at The Orleans Hotel & Casino.
Aside from ushering in the Christmas season, the ASAP homies also welcomed Iñigo Pascual back to the show after being gone for months to work on his first-ever Hollywood project, the upcoming musical drama TV series “Monarch.” He marked his homecoming by serenading us with the trending song “Sun and Moon” after working. The young heartthrob talked about his character Ace Grayson and can be streamed via iWantTFC starting September 13.
Fans of BGYO and SB19 were certainly joyous as they shared the stage for a fiery collaboration. The two boy groups initially performed their respective hits, with BGYO treating us with their power-charged performance of the Mars Ravelo’s Darna OST “Patuloy Ang Lipad”, while SB19 thrilling everyone with their concert-level presentation of “Where You At (WYAT)”.
Regine, Zsa Zsa, Gigi, Anji, Alexa, and Loisa Andalio then joined Klarisse in celebrating her birthday by piercing our hearts with their rendition of Olivia Rodrigo’s heartbreak hits “Happier” and “Traitor.” While this is supposed to be a special and cheery celebration, it became bittersweet for Klarisse as her grandfather passed away the night before.
The power trio of Martin Nievera, Morissette, and Darren then astounded us with their version of the “The Greatest Showman” official soundtrack “Rewrite The Stars”. It was followed by the moving performance of new generation hitmaker Paolo Sandejas, alongside Janine Berdin and Moira Dela Torre, of his song “Sorry”, which went popular online after BTS member Kim Taehyung (a.k.a. “V”) was caught singing along and vibing to it in a vlog last July.
Fans of Chie and Kim Chiu indeed had the time of their lives as they displayed their sultry sides during their sexy showdown. This was succeeded by Maymay and AC’s sweet and fierce rendition of Fifth Harmony’s “That’s My Girl” for an e-commerce platform.
The episode capped off with “The Greatest Showdown” segment, featuring the collabs of our favorite OPM icons and New Gen Birit Idols. Mr. Pure Energy Gary V and Reiven Umali started it with their version of “You’re The Inspiration” by Chicago, then followed by the Divine Diva Zsa Zsa and FANA making us feel what love is through “I Wanna Know What Love Is” by Foreigner.
Ogie and Sam Mangubat unleashed the rockstars in them via Meat Loaf’s “I Would Do Anything For Love”, while Elha and Gigi reminded us of iconic divas Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston with “When You Believe”. Jed Madela and JM Yusores then astonished us with their rendition of “Kiss From A Rose” by Sealm, while the Asia’s Songbird and Sheena belted out Leo Slayer’s “When I Need You”.
