Not only one, but two dreams of young artist Patricia delos Santos came true during her Blind Audition shown in the second episode of The Voice Kids Season 5.

The 12-year-old kid from San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, started singing when she was between six and seven years old. She usually joins singing contests held during the Teacher’s Day celebration at their school, which initially surprised her mom since she didn’t know that she could sing. Since then, she’s been performing in various events, such as birthday parties.

Aside from exhibiting her talent, her yearning to be reunited with her younger brother who was still in Mindanao is one of her motivations in joining The Voice Kids. According to her, they used to live there but since her father already had another woman, his family kicked them out their house, which compelled them to move to Bulacan and leave her brother Edrick behind since they didn’t have enough budget to cover all their airfares. Moved by their story, host Robi Domingo pledged to pay for Edrick’s plane ticket going here as he wanted her to simply focus on her Blind Auditions.

And she didn’t fail because not only one, but three judges turned for her as she nailed KZ Tandingan’s rendition of the OPM classic “Isang Linggong Pag-ibig.” Even though it was Coach Martin Nievera who she picked, coaches KZ and Bamboo still gave her a jacket and a scarf, respectively.

During her interview with Jeremy G and Elha Nympha in The Voice Kids DigiTV, Patricia conveyed how happy she is that the three coaches turned for her because she idolizes all of them, but, at the same time, that also gave her a hard time to choose who among them should be her coach. In the end, she picked Coach Martin since she felt that he will be able to help her and teach her singing techniques.

As she appeared confident during her performance, she imparted that she actually didn’t feel any jitters while onstage, and found the picking of coach as the most nerve-wracking.

With regards to Robi’s benevolent gesture, she expressed how grateful and happy she and her mom are, now that they already have the chance to see her younger brother again after so many years. Thus, it is to him and their whole family to whom she dedicates her three-chair turner performance.

When asked what made her choose “Isang Linggong Pag-ibig” as her audition piece, it was because she thought that it suits her voice and that she has the same voice range as KZ, which is among her favorite artists.

As she mentioned how she wishes to develop her skills in hitting low and high notes through the guidance of Coach Martin, Elha advised her to seek the proper placements of her low notes and high notes that would be easy for her, and even gave her a few tips.

Through these scenes, Kaila Estrada made us believe no one else could be Max Alvero. The Kapamilya actress has proved that she'll be in command whatever role she steps into. She's currently making waves anew as the badass ex-military and cyber ops specialist in the trending action series "Incognito." Her character exudes this badass vibe on the surface. But while her moves and action speak tough-as-nails persona, her eyes also don't lie; there's always something lingering beneath the surface, like a flicker of pain. To be able to serve up two 'faces' at once is a kind of layered acting that sets great performers apart, and Kaila absolutely delivers.

Check out her best moments in "Incognito" via this Kapamilya Toplist.

Kaila has stepped into a new action-packed territory and it’s safe to say she absolutely belongs here. She was introduced as Max, a hacker who only uses her skills for good like when she took down a group of hackers by infiltrating their operations in her first screen time in the series.

Then, the scene cut to an insane display of smooth and precise martial arts bravado as she took on a group of men, showcasing her fighting style that blended grace and power. After knocking the bad guys down, Max headed to the parking area and found a key card left on her motorcycle seat, which she then used to sneak into a house and take a ring from a vault.

Did she steal the ring? Is Max the hero or the villain? Viewers finally got their answers as the story unfolded. In one of her more emotional moments, Max was seen talking to a wedding coordinator. As soon as the woman left, she took out her phone to talk to someone, who could easily be assumed as her boyfriend as the guy on the other end told her he wouldn’t be able to make it to their meeting but assured her that their wedding would be perfect because she was there. Tears welled up in Kaila's eyes just as the call ended and it was revealed that the supposed 'call' was only a voice recording of her boyfriend.

Flashbacks then uncovered the depth of Max’s pain and finally explained the sorrow in her eyes. It turned out she once had a boyfriend named Sevi (Victor Silayan) who was also her comrade in the military. Their unit was set up and ambushed during an operation against a group of local terrorists. When Sevi (Victor Silayan) was trapped in the location, Max defied her superior's command to abort the mission, and instead infiltrated the place to save Sevi. But in a cruel twist, it was Sevi who shielded her from enemy fire, saving her but sacrificing his own life in the process.

This led to Max being discharged from service due to insubordination and desertion. And she hadn’t truly healed from the back-to-back tragedies in her life, as seen in her vulnerability when she arrived home and avoided the barrage of questions from her 'mothers,' Teddy (Ana Abad Santos) and Lorena (Sharmaine Suarez). Kaila’s quiet elegance perfectly captures Max’s silent pain and longing, especially in those heartbreaking moments when she misses Sevi and pretends to talk to him over the phone.

Proving her range, Kaila also pulls off the lighter moments and, without even trying, shares undeniable chemistry with Richard Gutierrez's JB, as viewers quickly noticed. There was a scene where, as the newly minted Team Incognito took on their first job together to target the Escalera crime empire in Isla Azur, JB teased Max to lighten up and just pretend she was interested in talking to him. He then asked how she got into cyber ops, to which she sarcastically replied that she realized it felt better to be facing her laptop than facing people—or worse, talking to them.

She then impressed JB with her acting skills, err, hacking skills, when she pretended to be a guest having problems with the access to Donato Escalera’s (Elijah Canlas) exclusive party. Once inside, Max effortlessly caught Donato’s attention, smoothly played push and pull, and, without a bit of hassle, slipped a tracker into his jacket’s pocket.

And of course, she was in full action mode in the adrenaline-pumping scenes, from their mission in Isla Azur, where they faced an entire village of locals loyal to the Escalera clan (she was absolutely badass even as the only rose among the thorns), to their next mission, which took them to the fictional Matera set against the cinematic backdrop of Italy.

As they arrived in Matera, Max immediately got into a fight after losing her cool with a group of rude locals harassing her. She flexed martial arts moves, which were nothing short of sophisticated. The intensity soared higher when Andres (Daniel Padilla) stepped in to back her up. Later, after getting scolded by Greg (Ian Veneracion), she told Andres that she could’ve handled the mess on her own, but still, she was thankful.

In the next high-octane scene, Max and JB managed to track down Andres, who had slipped into a restaurant owned by Marita Marconi, a member of an international crime family and a known associate of Timor in Matera. With sharp instincts and zero hesitation, Max and JB tailed Andres until they saw Timor in the area, leading the three of them to hatch a strategy to capture him. This quickly escalated into a high-stakes operation, with Max pushing through despite taking a gunshot wound to her side. But in true badass fashion, she powered through, and the mission ended with their target, Timor, finally in their grasp.

Catch Kaila as Max in “Incognito,” weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z.
