Kapamilya stars River Joseph and CJ Salonga proved that there’s more to them than their killer good looks as they can be witty and game for challenges, too. In their guesting on Kapamilya Chat, they took on different dares including the “Battle of the Famous Lines” where they would exchange dialogues commonly said during specific scenarios. 

The first round asked them for typical excuses for not paying debts. CJ dropped the default ‘palusot,’ “Sorry wala pa akong pera ngayon.” In this age of e-wallets, River thought of “nagloloko online banking, eh.” But, there’s something even more familiar than these, which is getting seen-zoned. 

Round two was all about common reasons said by a tardy student, with CJ keeping it relatable, “Sorry, Ma’am, traffic po.” Some students can be so creative they drag their relatives in their defense: “Ma’am, hinatid ko pa kasi kapatid ko.” As for River, “Sorry, Ma’am, nagbanyo lang po.”

We go next to classic ‘hugot’ lines of an angry mom. CJ said just a simple “hay naku” is enough to make kids nervous, or when the mother recites her child’s whole name. River’s dialogue reminds us that moms hate lazy kids: “Tanghali na, bakit ka pa tulog?” When they don’t want us to hang out with friends, they argue, “O, saan ka na naman pupunta?” And when due to frustrations they run out of words to say they have their collection of classic expressions like “anak ng tinapa!”
