The Iron Heart star Jake Cuenca may have been into different relationships in the past, but there are still people who have remained constant in his life. One of them is his long-time celebrity bestfriend and fellow seasoned actor Paulo Avelino.
Probably, not a lot of people know about their friendship since they seldom post photos of them hanging out together on social media. But they’ve been actually friends ever since he met Paulo after the latter’s transfer to ABS-CBN in 2011 and found out about their similarities, particularly with regards to their passion for their craft and tattoos, as what Jake disclosed during his guesting in Tonight With Boy Abunda in 2017. Their connection got stronger and they became best friends when they did the film “Status: It’s Complicated” in 2013. Since then, Jake has regarded him as his “love of my life.”
In his CinemaOne interview, Jake further revealed that both having the same story, which is coming from a different network before having successful careers as Kapamilyas, has made them closer. He also specified that they first met at the party of now Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal. People may have compared and pitted them against each other, but it was their friendship that still prevailed.
Despite having opposing personalities – Jake is the extroverted and sociable one, while Paulo is an introvert – they’re still able to establish a tight bond and become best friends, as what they revealed during their guesting together in Magandang Buhay in 2018. Aside from having the chance to work together, their being neighbors and hanging out together after their gym sessions have also contributed to their awesome friendship, as well as being there for each other always, especially when they go through heartbreaks.
“‘Yong friendship namin ni Pau, siguro ‘yon ‘yong maganda sa’ming dalawa. Nakita na namin ang isa’t isa at our worst, tapos nakita rin namin ang isa’t isa at our best,” Jake stated.
In recent years, we’ve also witnessed how the two have stuck by each other’s side, especially when the other one is in the midst of trouble or controversy. They’ve also found another common denominator, which is their love for riding their motorcycles, as what Jake revealed during his appearance in the vlog of his Viral Scandal co-star Charlie Dizon in 2022.
