The stars of "Third World Romance" may be facing hard lives in the movie, but they were deservedly given the red carpet treatment at the premiere night on Tuesday, August 15!

Led by Carlo Aquino and Charlie Dizon, the cast trooped to the event in stunning looks. Co-stars Iyah Mina, Esnyr Ranollo, Xilhouete, Brian Black, and Lady Morgana were in attendance.

Celebrity guests who arrived and showed their support included Jake Ejercito, Kaori Oinuma, Joao Constancia, Gillian Vicencio, Bianca de Vera, Turing, and "Sparks Camp" participants Bong, Nat, and Stanley.

While the film’s director Dwein Ruedas Baltazar unfortunately couldn’t make it to the premiere, she sent a speech expressing her gratitude for everyone’s support on their movie. Her co-writer Jeko Aguado read Direk Dwein’s speech on her behalf.

“Mahaba ang nilakbay namin ng co-writer kong si Jeko Aguado bago ako umabot sa draft ng 'Third World Romance',” she began. “But the initial prompt of Black Sheep was to tell a love story na masa ang sentro at paano mase-sentro sa masa ng isang developing country kung wala ang working class at wala ang mahigpit nitong kalaban na pagiging salat sa pera at mag-struggle sa kahirapan. Isama mo pa sa mix ang patuloy nating hinaharap na pandemya na noong una ay pilit naming iniiwasan.”

“Gusto kong magpasalamat sa lahat ng tumulong sa 'kin sa paggawa ng pelikulang 'to. Mula sa pinakamatataas hanggang sa pinakamaliliit na tao sa pelikula, at sa inyo, mga manonood, maraming salamat sa inyong interes manood ng landian ng isang bagger at cashier. Emi!” she quipped.

“Hiling ko na bawat isa sa inyo, magkaroon ng kanya-kanya niyong Bree at Alvin na sasamahan kayong bitbitin ang mabigat na mundong ito. At kung hindi man at tingin ko mas importante, sana ma-realize natin lahat na ang tunay na kapangyarihan ay laging nasa masa. Maraming salamat,” Dwein said.
