"Rewind" starring Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera has been officially selected as an entry to the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this December.
MMFF announced the first four entries that made the cut on Monday, July 10, among the 26 scripts they received from 32 production companies.
According to the film fest committee, the four entries were selected based on the following criteria: artistic excellence (40%), commercial appeal (40%), Filipino cultural sensibility (10%), and global appeal (10%).
Prior to the announcement, Star Cinema first unveiled "Rewind” last June 22, during the “New Movie Alert: DongYan” (NMA) event. The family drama film, which will bear a “touch of magic realism”, will be helmed by director Mae Cruz-Alviar, and will be based on a screenplay by Enrico Santos, with Carmi Raymundo as creative director and Daisy Cayanan-Mejares as creative manager.
Direk Mae also teased during the NMA event that the movie will revolve around the concept of second chances, as it ponders the question: "How far would you go to get that second chance?”
Rewind, made in collaboration with APT Entertainment and AgostoDos Media, will be showing in cinemas this December!
More details will be released soon, so stay tuned on Star Cinema's social media accounts for more updates!
