As actors tend to spend a lot of time on the set, it’s arguably inevitable for them to form deeper connection that could either lead to long-lasting friendships or even romance. And this was what probably happened between Pira-Pirasong Paraiso star Charlie Dizon and fellow actor Carlo Aquino, who are among the talk of the town nowadays because of their relationship.

It was in August 2022 when Carlo initially posted a photo of them together, which was captured during the “Star Magic 30th Anniversary: Beyond the Stars US Tour,” in which both of them were part of. However, it was their candid shot dining at an unnamed food place, which he shared in November that ignited speculations that something romantic is already going on between them.

They further fueled dating rumors when they were seen being cozy with each other in a couple of photos uploaded by Charlie, which was taken during the holiday dinner they had with her non-showbiz friends. And a few days later, they were spotted again together while chilling at a restaurant in La Union.

The media people finally had the opportunity to ask Carlo regarding the real score between them in an ambush interview at the media conference of his much-talked about film “I Love Lizzy,” which he starred opposite Barbie Imperial. He confirmed that they’re indeed dating at that time and were starting to learn about each other.

Until July 20 came, and for the very first time, Charlie unexpectedly ‘fessed up in a morning show guesting that Carlo is already her boyfriend. They were further probed regarding their romance in the presscon of their first film together, “Third World Romance,” in which they divulged that it was in this project that they began to develop feelings for each other.

While Carlo confessed that it was him who first fell in love, Charlie, on the other hand, admitted that she initially felt worried and afraid when he expressed his intention to court her. But because their friendship has been solid ever since their A Soldier’s Heart days, she just chose to hold on to that.

Despite the 11-year age gap between them, the differences in their personalities, and the snide remarks that they get from naysayers, these don’t hinder them in finding the common ground in their romance. The couple disclosed that both of them are already planning a future together, since both of them believe, especially Charlie, that it’s one of the primary reasons why people get into a relationship – for us to have a constant and reliable companion until we grow old.
