Far from the direction of spitting bars and delivering wicked rhymes on his previous EP COM•PLEX, musician, style icon, and overall rebel rockstar visionary Felip now talks about isolation, fear of betrayal, and finding authenticity with "Fake Faces". He turns to his gritty rock influences - akin to early 2010s emo, alternative, and pop-punk. With hard-hitting lyrics reflective of present-day struggles, "Fake Faces" is sure to be an instant hit to both fans and first-time listeners of the SB19 member.

In an exclusive online interview granted by Warner Music Philippines via Amplified Entertainment, Hyuk Shin shared that, "Basically, before meeting Felip, I listened to the music he had done so far and had a rough idea of what kind of music sound I wanted to go for. I wanted to revisit the punk rock that was popular in the 2000s and make it a 2024 version. But first, before producing music, I needed time to get to know who Felip was as much as possible. We had an almost counseling session to find out how he was currently feeling about his life and what he was currently struggling with, and discussed the topic of fake people that he's been experiencing. After the conversation with Felip ,we were inspired to write a song and the creative energy was flowing around in the studio. so It was a very easy process for producing this song for me. I truly believe we created a song that feels sincere and authentic when people listen to the music and allows them to feel his honest feelings."

Hyun Shik also gave a story of one of the highlights in his recording experience with Felip. "I think the most impressive highlight is the bridge part. The first half of the bridge was sung very quietly, but in the second half, we raised it an octave up and sang with empathy as if Felip was screaming. At the same time, we added a background chanting style melody on top, imagining everyone was clapping and singing together in a big stadium. I vividly remember this in the studio and I believe that it will become a reality to see Felip singing in a big stadium and all the fans clapping together in the bridge section."

"Flying out to Malaysia to work on everything from the track to the music and lyric videos was definitely a career highlight; these are big opportunities for me," Felip said. In fact, he shares that he did try to keep his nerves at bay during the entire process - as he has the honor and distinction of being the very first Filipino artist to work with Hyuk Shin. In a mere two days, the track was finished and polished, with Felip being ultimately satisfied with the quality of the output.

In an interview granted to One Music PH in the past, he attributes the diversity of his solo music to his musical influences. "Iba-ibang artists ang hilig ko. Fan ako ng mga artists na hindi usual ang timbre ng boses. Tinry ko silang i-emulate, and na-discover ko na kaya ko din palang gawin yung ginagawa nila and kaya ko ding i-incorporate sa ginagawa ko. Pero yung lalim ng singing voice ko, talagang nandiyan na 'yan ever since bata pa ko, specifically nung nagbibinata ako."
