Originally known for being a beauty queen and MYX VJ, Aya Fernandez has since crossed over to the world of teleserye and continued to make a name for herself with her significant roles in “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin,“ “Viral Scandal,” “A Family Affair,” and currently, “Nag-Aapoy Na Damdamin.”

She might appear fierce and intimidating as the hotshot journalist Sabrina Dominguez in her current show,” but behind the cameras, we see her as the bubbly gal anybody would wish to be friends with and get to know better.

With that, here’s Aya filling out the pages of Kapamilya Celebrity Slambook.

Born Julienne Medina Fernandez on July 31, 1997, she is a Leo, the zodiac sign known to be fiery, passionate, and pretty impossible to ignore. Sounds exactly like the Aya we’ve known!

If you follow her on Instagram, you know that she loves to travel, and of all the places she’s been to, she considers Moalboal, Cebu as the best vacation spot.

The 25 year-old Star Magic artist is a certified foodie and her ultimate comfort food is her mom’s kare-kare.

Aya, whose favorite color is maroon, lists down jogging and cycling as hobbies. Mac Miller’s “I’ll Be There” is number on her playlist. She has this unique ability to raise one eyebrow from the other.

Her first audition was for Star Magic. She remembers seeing Jericho Rosales around the Star Magic office during her training – and that’s how her first fangirl moment happened.

She considers fellow ex-MYX VJ Robi Domingo as her first showbiz friend. He’s also one of her showbiz role models, alongside Angel Locsin, Iza Calzado, Shamaine Buencamino, and Nonie Buencamino.

Asked her dream role, Aya shared that she wants to have a historical period project because she’s fascinated with Philippine history.

This Jill of all trades is truly inspiring for her passion and big heart for service. She aspires to empower people “as much as I can, with the greatest of my abilities, to the maximum of my capabilities and resources.”

She grinds for her dreams by keeping this motto to heart: “Champions rise when they can’t.” The “grateful” Aya knows that love is real when “we can cross the ocean for people who can’t cross a puddle for us.”

Catch her in Nag-Aapoy Na Damdamin, Mondays to Fridays, at 3:550 pm, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z.
