Edu Manzano further adds weight to the hefty star power of the upcoming Kapamilya teleserye “Lavender Fields” with his portrayal of Vittorio “Vitto” Buenavidez. Known for his commanding presence, he is set to embody a character that will both infuriate and terrify viewers, showcasing his exceptional talent and elevating the drama to new heights.
As one of the acting industry's pillars, Edu, hailed as Philippine Drama Royalty, continues to captivate audiences with his relentless energy and passion for new roles. His latest assignment, the revenge-action series “Lavender Fields,” is seen as a “welcome change” in his illustrious career.
“I love what I’m doing. I enjoy what I’m doing,” Edu shared with the media during a press junket for “Lavender Fields.” One reason he’s thrilled about the teleserye is his admiration for the new breed of actors, whom he observes are dedicated to fully immersing themselves in their roles. In the series, he’ll be working with young stars Jana Agoncillo, Marc Santiago, Miguel Vergara, and Krystal Mejes.
Having transitioned seamlessly from one role to another over the years, Edu is always eager for what’s next. He’s now changing his skin once again, bringing depth and a big dose of villainy to his character, Vitto.
Playing the bad guy isn’t easy, but it sure can be fun. What fuels Edu’s portrayal of the wicked Vitto is understanding his nature. To Edu, Vitto isn’t just evil—he’s also a complex figure with a soft spot. As a protective father, Vitto will go to any lengths for his children and is so driven by his career that he’ll stop at nothing to succeed.
But this is also where his villainy really comes into play. “Kapag nasasaktan ang anak ko, triple ang akin,” the powerful says in the show’s trailer. This line reveals how Vitto’s fierce protection of his children amplifies his danger.
“Ang babangga sa kanya, siguradong tutumba.”
Watch Edu as Vitto in 2024’s grandest revenge-action series, “Lavender Fields,” featuring an all-star cast including Jericho Rosales, Janine Gutierrez, Jolina Magdangal, Maricel Soriano, Albert Martinez, and 2022 Asian Academy Creative Awards Best Actress Jodi Sta. Maria.
“Lavender Fields” starts airing this September 2 on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z.
