La Luna Sangre actress Angel Locsin may have aged, but she seems to only grow lovelier over time! These pictures may be old, but her unmistakable beauty remains vivid. If you are curious about the stories behind these snapshots, let's take a trip down memory lane and look back on her memorable childhood, early years as an artista and a Kapamilya.
She was born Angelica Locsin Colmenares on April 23, 1985 in Sta. Maria, Bulacan. In her Magandang Buhay interview in 2019, she reminisced about how her showbiz career began through commercial modeling in her teenage years after she was discovered by a talent scout while grocery shopping at a mall. She grabbed the opportunity and endured the long commute from their house in Caloocan City to Makati City to attend go-sees in pursuit of helping her family with their finances.
That same talent agent had her join a pageant through which she was scouted by someone from ABS-CBN Talent Center (now Star Magic). She was awarded a free workshop, but she wasn’t able to push through with it after her father reprimanded her for not telling them anything about it. She was supposed to be launched alongside Heart Evangelista, Janus del Prado, Rafael Rosell, Adrian Alandy, and their other batchmates in Star Circle Batch 9.
In a separate interview on the morning talk show in 2016, she divulged that she was actually of the back-up dancers of Momshie Jolina Magdangal-Escueta in one of her music videos, in which she had the opportunity to experience her humility and kindness. She also recalled auditioning for G-Mik to be the loveteam partner of John Prats, but, as we all know, that role eventually went to Heart.
Not long after, a new opportunity opened for Angel, through which her showbiz career finally took off. She made her acting debut at the age of 15 via a movie in 2000. It was followed by her first-ever television appearance in the popular teen drama series of another network in 2002, paving the way for her to become one of its biggest stars. Thus, it really came as a surprise when she transferred to ABS-CBN in 2007 and went on to stay here up to the present. Among her most remarkable works as a Kapamilya were Lobo (2008), Only You (2009), Imortal (2010), The Legal Wife (2014), Pilipinas Got Talent (2016 & 2018), La Luna Sangre (2017), and The General’s Daughter (2019).
As of this writing, her last TV project was the weekly public service program Iba ‘Yan that ran for a year from 2020 to 2021, while her last movie appearance was in the zombie thriller film “Block Z”s in 2020, wherein she had a cameo.
In her two decades in the local entertainment scene, Angel is not just known for being a versatile and award-winning actress, but also as philanthropist and a real-life superheroine through the causes that she initiated and supported.
As we wait for her return on television or the silver screen, let’s take a look first on some of her adorable throwback photos in this gallery!
