5 Activity Ideas for a Bestie Fun Day

To you and your... beshy, bestie, mare, bff, or whatever the endearment is, happy friendship day!  On this special ocassion, let’s celebrate the friendship we have with people who have always been there for us through thick and thin. It's a day dedicated to friends who cheer with us when we win in life, laugh with us as we remember embarrassing moments, offer comforting hugs when we’re heartbroken, and hand us tissues when tears start flowing. It surely is every parent’s wish for their kids to find good, lifelong friends. So here are some activities you can try with your kids to show them the importance of friendship!

  1. Make a friendship bracelet.

As Taylor Swift expressed in her song, “Make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it”. This can be a fantastic way to have a constant reminder of love. You can even take some time out for a bracelet-making session! Not only will these accessories add cuteness to an outfit, but they are also a good conversation piece and fun to make. Additionally, they are super affordable! Check this tutorial from Art Jam!

  1. Write a poem!

Kind words have the power to melt hearts. Writing allows someone to express their deep feelings that oftentimes go unsaid. It also nurtures creativity. So why not grab a pen and paper and start writing poems with your kids? Get tips on how to write a poem with this lesson from Karen’s World!

  1. Cook and eat.

Raise your hand if you're the kind of friend who enjoys cooking 🙋 Raise your hand if you're also the type of friend who loves to eat. 🙋How about turning your shared love for food into a fun activity on Friendship Day? You could even bring the kids to help in the kitchen for a whole day of bonding with their titos and titas! Don't worry, you don't have to prepare fancy meals. Just gather whatever ingredients are available in your kitchen and cook something that you and your friends will all love. As you enjoy the meal together, take some photos, chat about your day, or even try out new recipes together! Food has a magical ability to bring people together. Sports are more than just a way to stay healthy; they can also be a great way to bond with friends.  Either a mini sports fest or a casual day at the court, is a good practice to show your kids the importance of physical activities, teamwork, and having people who always back you up! Need a refresher on a team sport? Here are the basics of volleyball to get you started.

  1. Give them flowers

The vibrant colors and delightful fragrances of flowers make them an ideal choice for showing love. However, if you are working on a budget, rest assured that there is a solution: do-it-yourself floral arrangements. Here’s a tutorial from Art Smart!

These are just a few examples of countless activities to celebrate friendship. But if you are not able to do any, it's perfectly alright because you can still show love, support, and kindness any day and every day. Again, happy international friendship day!
