It’s Showtime’s Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, and Chie Filomeno together with featured artists Six Part Invention and Ebe Dancel offered OPM pop-rock classics to reminisce to in the third episode of “It’s Sharetime” online benefit show.
It feels like a time loop watching the guest bands. And all the while immersing in the ‘feels’ and nostalgia, Kapamilyas manifest the spirit of ‘bayanihan’ by donating to live streaming app KUMU and other platforms for ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN Foundation’s “Tulong-Tulong sa Pag-Ahon: Isang Daan sa Pagtutulungan” campaign. The 100-night fund drive aims to provide food, clean water, as well as hygiene and home repair kits for families affected by Typhoon Odette.
The It’s Showtime family is known for their big hearts for the madlang people and their natural penchant for giving them laughter. Jugs and Teddy expressed how they miss interacting with a live audience. The latter said in jest, “’Yung ‘pag nag-joke ka, may tatawa. Kasi kami-kami na lang, eh. Minsan hindi pa sila tatawa parang, ‘tayu-tayo na nga lang, hindi ka pa tatawa?’ Parang consolation prize na lang ‘yung binibigay sa’yo, eh.”
They’re nonetheless happy to still provide entertainment despite the pandemic, and of course, to take part in donation drives like Operation Odette. “Sobrang masayang-masaya kami dahil we’re a part of this. Nakakapagbigay kami ng good vibes at tulong sa madlang people natin lalong-lalo na sa Kapamilya natin na naapektuhan ng Bagyong Odette. We’re so honored to be here,” Teddy added.
And to help collect funds for families affected by the calamity, Jugs and Teddy, who lists down Eraserheads, Rivermaya, Sugarfree, and Yano as their OPM influences, will use the power of music. They performed their individual bands’ popular hits – “Penge Naman Ako N’yan” by Jugs’ Itchyworms band and “Superhero” by Teddy’s Rocksteddy.
Besides her love for dancing, Chie also has a big heart for music and OPM. She has a collection of memories with her favorite bands Chicosci and Callalily; the latter’s “Magbalik” is the first song she played on the guitar.
The Showtime Sexy Babe judge then serenaded everyone with “Di Na Muli.” Impressed, Jugs commented, “Pwede nating i-produce ‘yan, ah.” Then, Teddy revealed that Chie used his studio to record a song that she performs during mall shows pre-pandemic.
Since the spotlight was on the sexy vixen, they got to talk about It’s Showtime’s trending “Sexy Babe” segment. Host Darla Sauler asked which contestant has made a lasting impression so far. Chie, who is part of the show’s Sexy Authori-TEAM, mentioned Cianne Dominguez and Camille Medina. Meanwhile, Teddy played it safe, saying he has his very own sexy babe at home, his wife Jasmine.
Joining the It’s Showtime family that night is Six Part Invention band offering their hits including “Time Machine” and “Yan ang Pag-Ibig” in a concert-like performance.
Ebe Dancel followed the act, bantering first with his friends Jugs and Teddy. Kapamilyas who tuned in got to enjoy his soothing music as he performed “Huling Unang Sayaw,” which is included in his wedding-themed extended playlist, and the most requested “Bawat Daan.”
To end the night, Chie granted viewers’ request to see her take on the “Toxic” Dance Challenge.
