Five years since the first time they met in an episode of Gandang Gabi Vice in 2017, Vice Ganda recently had the chance to bond and catch up again with her anak-anakan, social media sensation Carlo “Gigil Kid” Mendoza, as seen in the latest vlog uploaded on her YouTube channel.

The video commenced with someone from her team interviewing Carlo, who’s now 11, about what happened to him during those times that we had not seen him on television. According to him, the It’s Showtime host sponsored his studies, until his current talent agency Star Image stepped in to continue supporting his education when the pandemic struck.

Just when he thought that he’s going to meet with the girl to whom he will be teamed up with, as what the interviewer said, he was stoked to find out that it was none other than his beloved Meme Vice, who he really missed so much. The two ate as they talked about what has been going on in his life at present and reminisced about the good, memorable times that they shared together. He also professed how much he loves her simply because he loves her, as well as imparted how he dreams of becoming a policeman someday to fight crimes and hooligans.

They then flipped through a scrapbook which contains some of their sweetest and fondest moments with one another and related little backstories behind each photo. She wasn’t able to hold back her tears as he read the message he gave her on the first that they met.

Vice imparted how Carlo’s always been so affectionate towards her as he never fails to give her warm and tight embraces every time they see each other and bond together before. Both of them expressed how much they missed each other, especially during those times that they didn’t see one another for a long time.

“Meme, gusto ko pong sabihin sa inyo na mahal na mahal po kita kasi tinulungan n’yo po ako kahit noong bata po ako, kasi tinuturing n’yo po ako na parang isang anak. So, kahit hindi po tayo nagkikita madalas, sana lagi n’yo pong tandaan na maraming tao na sumusuporta sa inyo. At sana, ipagpatuloy n’yo ang pagpapatawa n’yo po sa mga tao dahil nandito lang po ako sa likod n’yo, kami po na parang mga itinuring n’yo pong mga anak – si Yorme, si Jaden. Lahat po kami nasa likod n’yo,” Carlo sincerely said to Vice.

In return, the Everybody Sing host told him that he’s not simply treating them as her children, but actually considers them as her own. He’s also happy to know that he is okay and healthy, as well as has gone more behaved and smarter during those times that they had not seen one another.

“Gusto ko po sana alagaan n’yo ang ang sarili n’yo at sana po kayo ni Kuya Ion ay mas maging masaya. Si Kuya Ion po, lagi n’yo pong iisipin na parang ako po siya kasi doon po tayo naging mas masaya kasi nakilala n’yo po ang bagong magpapasaya sa inyo.

She acknowledged how Carlo has played a significant role in the blissful married life that he’s enjoying with her beloved spouse. It can be recalled that it was him who ‘discovered’ Ion and made them meet in one of the episodes of GGV in 2017, wherein Ion was among the live audiences. That’s why whatever happens, their lives will always be connected.

After teaching him the “proper” and “sosyal” way of eating and drinking in a fine dining restaurant, Vice then took him to a shopping spree at a clothing store, wherein he tried out various pieces personally picked by her. They then headed to a global shoe store to buy pairs of shoes for him, too.
