Telesa Marie "Esang" De Torres was only seven years old when she first made our hearts melt in showcasing her singing prowess on It’s Showtime’s segment “Mini Me” in 2014. She performed as the Lea Salonga mini-me singing a very admirable rendition of “Tomorrow” from the Broadway musical “Annie,” one of the many songs popularized locally by Lea when she was a little girl. Wearing her beautiful red dress in the contest, the adorable 7-year old Esang really proved she can really be the little Broadway Diva. The hosts, judges, and audience were all stunned by little Esang’s performance.

A year after, she joined The Voice Kids Season 2, wherein she impressed the coaches and the audience, including Coach Lea herself, with her astounding blind audition singing the Broadway hit “Home” from “The Wiz.” After coaches Lea, Sarah Geronimo, and Bamboo all turned for her, the Broadway Diva immediately recognized Esang as her “mini-me” from It’s Showtime. Esang would then choose Coach Lea as her mentor throughout the competition instilling valuable pointers to further improve her stage performances. After singing another Broadway tune “Somewhere” from West Side Story as her last song in the season finale, Esang ended up third place

Now, the young singer/stage actress has already grown up to be a beautiful young girl and an even greater performer. Turning 14 in February, Esang reached more milestones in her singing career, portraying the lead role in the musical “Matilda” and made it to the Manila and Singapore production of “Les Miserables” as the little Cosette.
