When a couple gets a tattoo related to each other, it’s like letting the whole world know that their love is eternal. After all, tattoos are permanent mementos.

“Since we’ll be partners for life, itong markang ito ay for life na rin at wala nang burahan,” said Vice Ganda in the latest of his vlog where he and partner Ion Perez can be seen getting matching tattoos.

“Kailangan ‘yung pang-partners talaga ‘yung mga ilalagay namin, so ‘yung mga bagay na hindi pwedeng paghiwalayin,” he added, pertaining to their tattoos that perfectly match when their hands or fingers intertwine.

And they got not only one – but five couple tattoos!

Their special tattoo artist was Bryan, a cameraman on It’s Showtime. They first inked their thumbs with a lasting reminder to always be there for each other. The base of Vice’s thumb has the words “I am” while Ion’s had “with you.”

I am with you. “Kasi as you can see we’re very clingy to each other. Kaming dalawa ‘yung hindi kami mapakali kapag hindi kami magkasama,” Vice explained its significance. He added that they often talk via video call even if they’re distant from each other, for instance, when Ion visits his family in Tarlac.

“Para kahit hindi kami magkasama physically, hindi namin nararamdaman na magkalayo kami. Because we always want to be with each other and we always make it a point to make each other feel that we are together.”

When they put their forefingers together, they would form a smiley face, symbolizing the happiness they give each other. “We are each other’s joy. He makes me smile, I make him smile. Jowa mo dapat source of joy mo, hindi ini-stress ka ng jowa mo,” Vice imparted.

They each had half of a heart on their ring fingers, forming a heart. What more can be said about this design? Well, they have each other’s hearts.

The lovebirds also had the words “king” and “queen” inked on their middle fingers, and finally, the words “for” and “ever” – as in “forever” when they put their pinky fingers together.

Vice and Ion will certainly feel giddier and more in love when they hold hands from now on!
