The country's longest-running singing competition, "Tawag ng Tanghalan," opens its doors to students from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao as they represent their school and showcase their singing prowess in "Tawag in Tanghalan: School Showdown."

Two contenders from different universities will go head-to-head and impress the hurados with their golden voices in the eight season of “It’s Showtime’s” singing contest.

Hannah Grace Espadol, a psychology student from the University of St. La Salle Bacolod, received the highest combined score of 95% after she charmed judges Louie Ocampo, Erik Santos, and Zsa Zsa Padilla with her version of Maymay Entrata's hit song, “Amakabogera” during the contest’s first episode. She won over Kyshia Razon of Mater Dei College who got 93.3%.

Netizens meanwhile shared their support for the newest edition of "TNT" on Twitter and praised the show for giving exposure to different students and the schools they represent.
