Ryan Bang Magpasikat winner

Whatever they say about ‘13’, for Ryan Bang, it’s a lucky number!

It’s Showtime’s ‘oppa’ finally clinched his first-ever triumph in the noontime program’s Magpasikat 2022 anniversary special. After his winning moment, Ryan granted this short interview in which he shared his thoughts about his historic victory.

Those who follow the annual talent competition among the It’s Showtime hosts know how much effort Ryan would put into his every performance since he is the only host who has never become a champion. So, I did my best. Every year, talagang binibigay ko todo… Nalungkot na lang ako, deep inside,” he admitted.

This year, for It’s Showtime’s 13th anniversary, he found his perfect teammate in Jhong Hilario, who let him shine in their spectacular presentation that highlights Filipino-Korean ties. Ryan showcased his impressive talent in traditional Korean dances. They also paid tribute to the Filipino veterans who fought in the Korean War and, therefore, will donate the grand prize of Php 500, 000 to the brave soldiers.

He also left an inspiring message to the madlang people, “Madlang people, akalain n’yo, sa wakas naka-champion na po ako. Hindi po ako malas! Kaya, madlang people, kung may gusto kayo, you never give up, try and try until you succeed.”

“Thank you, madlang people. Sobra po akong masaya, grabe,” he enthused in his familiar chinito charm.

Ryan has waited so long and gotten through so many struggles and defeats. But that’s exactly what makes his victory a lot sweeter. Congratulations, Ryan and Jhong!
