Over the past 15 years, It’s Showtime has brought good vibes and entertainment to the madlang people, not just through the hilarious banters and antics of its gregarious hosts but through its amusing segments as well.
And last July 30, the well-loved noontime program once again launched a new and exciting FUNanghalian segment, which was the “Bata Bata Pick.” In this game, the designated host will draw a player from his/her co-hosts. The player then, in turn, will pick from his/her partner or the “alay” from his/her co-host, as well as his/her bet from the pair of Showtime kids who will face off in a specific challenge.
If his/her chosen kid loses the challenge, the “alay” will receive a “FUNishment,” and if the kid wins, the “alay” will be safe, and the hosts will obtain a P10,000 cash prize. The accumulated prize by the end of the game will be given away to the lucky studio audiences.
Just in the first two weeks, we’d already witnessed some of the hosts taking on the “FUNishment” given to them, and we collated them in this episode of Kapamilya Update.
Let’s start off with Vice Ganda being punished on the very first day of the game. We all know how she always makes sure that her mane looks good, so it came as a surprise when she willingly whipped her wig back and forth, which eventually fell off.
On that same episode, the Unkabogable Star and the other hosts couldn’t hold their laughter as MC and Cianne had to switch OOTDs with one another and had to do so the entire episode as FUNishment. Fortunately, Cianne was wearing a stretchable summer dress that time, which fit MC well and delighted him.
After she and her partner Vhong Navarro lost, Jackie was punished for singing her favorite song “Water”. But the catch, she had to change last word of its every line with “meow” and had to sing and dance it.
From being the player, Vhong went on to become the “alay” in another episode, wherein he was punished with swapping clothes with Cianne for the entire episode. The madlang people had to wait till “Expecially For You” to see him donning Cianne’s tight spaghetti strap mini pink dress, which he had to pair with a mini skirt since he didn’t want It’s Showtime to go to Hong Kong again.
Missed seeing Ion Perez dance? Well, we got to see him bust his moves anew when he was tasked with taking on the “Mamushi” dance challenge as his FUNishment.
And lastly, Ryan Bang, on the other hand, had to perform his rendition of his favorite song “Hawak Kamay” by his former crush Yeng Constantino while wearing a mouth opener.
