Ever since the “Isip Bata” segment was launched last February, our noontime viewing has been overloaded with cuteness and kakulitan as three adorable and talented children join the gregarious It’s Showtime family every day in spreading laughter and good vibes to the madlang people.
One of them is kiddie online sensation Argus Aspiras, who never fails to capture our hearts us with his irresistible charm and impressive wit and humor. In the past months that he’s been on the show, we’ve probably heard stories about his beloved overseas Filipino worker (OFW) father, who works as a policeman in South Sudan, in his kuwentuhan with the hosts.
And early this May, we finally got to meet his Daddy Michael, who appeared on the program almost everyday since he arrived in the Philippines last May 6. And we’ve already figured out where Baby Argus got not just his good looks, but his sense of humor as well, as Daddy Michael gamely bantered with the hosts and even took on the challenges that they’d given him.
Despite being not together most of the time since Daddy Michael’s vacations are just limited, this apparently didn’t hinder them from having a close-knit relationship, as seen in their adorable interactions on It’s Showtime, which we compiled in this Kapamilya Update feature!
Let’s start off on the very first time that Argus brought his father to It’s Showtime and introduced him to everyone. Since he came from abroad, the hosts, especially Vice Ganda, teased him for not bringing any pasalubong for them in return of taking good care of his son. However, he had chocolates for Argus and jested that his wife would receive hers later that night.
And it seemed that Argus exposed his dad to the world when he told the Unkabogable Star the following day that he overheard his parents’ conversations about having another baby, so they compelled him to sleep early the night before. The hosts justified it by saying that his mom and dad were just making up to the time they’d lost apart and went on to tease Michael that he just got “buking.”
The following day, Argus imparted that he let his parents sleep first before dozing off, as his father even asked him to buy vinegar to a nearby store even though it was already late at night. Meme Vice and the other hosts once again covered up for Daddy Michael by telling him that maybe he and his mommy were just busy cleaning their room, so they wanted him to be out for a while.
And on his birthday last May 17, they were able to make Daddy Michael dance on the spot to the trending “Big Boy Dance Challenge” after Argus did it and dared him to do it since it was his special day.
