New year, new chapter, new segment!

As 2024 begins, It’s Showtime didn’t just welcome a new chapter, but it has also launched its newest segment entitled “Karaokids,” which features the adorable Batang Cute-po Imogen Cantong, Argus Aspiras, Princess Kathryn “Kulot” Caponpon, and Jaze Capili, and “Mini Miss U Season 2” grand winner Arianah Kelsey Lasam. Thus, the name, which is a wordplay of the words “Karaoke” and “kids.”

From sharing their opinions, amusing us with their talents and kakulitans, and endearing us with their presence, these kiddos would be the one to determine the fate of the contestants. In this game, the kids listen to songs being played on the earphones they wear and have to sing it for the contestants to guess the correct title with the help of the host assigned to be their partner.

And on its pilot week, wherein the host were the ones to play, we’ve already witnessed loads of hilarious moments that truly made us droll. Let us revisit some of them in this episode of Kapamilya Update.

Starting off with how the tandem of Lassy and Jhong Hilario were able to guess Daniel Padilla’s “Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat” even though Jaze initially sang it in gibberish, which made them jest that he could be singing a Korean song.

With how highly popular “Raining In Manila” is by Lola Amour, it seemed that Kelsey was able to know its lyrics well. And that indeed helped as Vice Ganda and Jackie Gonzaga were able to guess it within three seconds.

On the other hand, Ion Perez and Ryan Bang had a hard time as Kulot tried to sing “Uhaw” by Dilaw. Vhong Navarro and MC had the same fate as Kulot wasn’t able to get the lyrics of “Paru-Parong Bukid” right.

As they once again got paired with each other, Jhong and Lassy were able to easily guess the “Just Once” and Tagalog nursery rhyme “Lubi Lubi”. It also didn’t take Ryan and Ion a long time to guess that what Kelsey was singing was “You Are My Sunshine” as she’s able to enunciate the first words of the chorus clearly.

Everyone was indeed amazed when Jackie and Vice were able to guess “Leron Leron Sinta” and “Dynamite” by BTS although Argus was almost whispering while singing these songs.
