For a quick refresher, here are the TOP 10’s performances plus comments from judges Regine Velasquez, Gary Valenciano, and Chito Miranda, and mentors Nina and Ice Seguerra from the first Live Gala show.
PJ
“You brought the pain to your game and you won the game tonight.” That’s how judge Gary described PJ’s performance of “Kabilang Buhay,” keeping him the current frontrunner in the leaderboard.
Ann Raniel
Ann Raniel sang her feelings with the classic breakup piece “Till My Heartaches End.” The vocals and emotions were clear and on-point she was last week’s Top 2 hopeful.
Trisha
Rich low notes coupled with soul made Trisha, who chose Harry Style’s “Falling,” one of the top contenders in the first Idol PH Live Gala show. Judge Regine commented how Trisha proved that performances are not all about intense belting.
Ryssi
Powered by her heartaches, Ryssi brought us all the feels with her even more soul-piercing rendition of “Oks Lang.” Judges were moved by the 22-year-old aspirant’s storytelling.
Bryan
Mentor Ice wanted it simple yet heartfelt, and that’s exactly how Brian delivered. The 23-year-old hopeful traded his signature falsettos for a surprising ‘birit’ at the end, showcasing his versatility.
Nisha
Saturday night’s first ‘hugot’ was Nisha’s version of “Hiling.” Her love for performing runs deep and her wish is to succeed in the competition. Will the seasoned ‘kontesera’ finally get her season of stardom?
Delly
“This was the best performance for the night. Para sa akin,” judge Chito commented on Delly’s rendition of “Ibong Ligaw.” Listening to the advice of mentor Ice, the dreamer from Isabela balanced her voice’s power and soft tones.
Misha
Inspired by her ‘secret crush’, the youngest contender enchanted everyone with her version of “Para Lang Sa’yo” by mentor Ice. Misha’s got everything you’ll look for in an idol, as judge Gary put it, she “looks like an Idol.”
Khimo
Khimo’s ‘hugot’ song from last week’s Live Gala night is “One Last Cry.” Taking it from mentor Nina’s observation, we knew Khimo was going to deliver so much feels.
Kice
Armed with a guitar, pure talent, and charming stage presence to boot, Kice took our breath away as he sings “Barely Breathing.” Judge Regine gushed, “Ang cute mo sa TV!”
