To celebrate its second season, Idol Philippines is changing things up in Philippine TV as the first program to launch its own Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), or limited edition digital collectibles.
Fans of the hit singing competition can now own their unique Idol Philippines experience with the NFT collections to be launched starting August 12. The first drop will consist of commemorative digital collectibles of the “Idol Philippines” logo at Php50 each, and 400 “Golden Ticket” animated cards at Php999 each that can be used as passes for the live shows throughout August and September.
For the second drop on August 18, avid collectors may start to purchase a ‘blind’ Finalist Pack at Php899. Each pack will contain a graphics card with rarity featuring a random contestant from the remaining Idol Philippines hopefuls. You will receive either 2 bronze cards, or 1 silver card, or 1 gold card.
A chance to meet the show’s grand winner awaits collectors who purchase the limited Platinum Ticket NFTs at Php1, 999 each, which will also be launched on August 18. These graphics cards will also serve as passes to the Idol Philippines finals on September 17 and 18.
These limited-edition digital items will be available on ThetaDrop, an NFT marketplace by Theta Network, the leading blockchain for media and entertainment.
