Angeline Quinto has truly mastered the art of being a mom, and part of that is demonstrating a savvy knack for budgeting through her ‘tipid’ hacks. In her latest vlog, she shared her usual grocery run with her beloved ‘angels' and her son, Sylvio, and offered money-saving tips along the way.

Tip 1: Choose low-end supermarkets

While grocery shopping may often strain the budget, you can significantly trim expenses by exploring the best marketplaces in your area. What we love about Angeline is she’s so practical that she skips high-end supermarkets in order to save more.

Tip 2: Check the pantry before leaving for the grocery

Take the time to look around your kitchen and make an inventory of your pantry to see what you need “Kung ano pa ‘yung kumpleto do’n, kung ano pa ‘yung marami pa na stock, at kung ano naman ‘yung kulang na,” said Angeline. “So, pagdating ng grocery, alam n’yo kung anong mga pinaka-priority.”

Tip 3: Plan your menu for the whole week

“Nililista na nila ang gusto nila lutuin para hindi na sila mag-iisip kung ano ang ulam na gagawin nila. Kasama na do’n ‘yung baon ni Sylvio, almusal, lunch, at dinner. Malaking tulong din ‘yun."

Tip 4: Make your list, check it twice, and stick to it

“Lagi kayong mag-stick sa kung ano lang ang nakalista at ano lang ang budget natin sa pag-go-grocery, kasi ‘pag ‘yan ay lumagpas, magtutuloy-tuloy ‘yun, hanggang sa nag-over na kayo sa budget.”

You can certainly add any item that you may have forgotten to include in your grocery list, but just don’t go overboard. A hack that Angeline learned from her Mama Bob is to inform the cashier of a set budget, allowing them to gauge if there’s still room for less priority items.

Tip 5: Don’t go shopping on an empty stomach

“Kasi napapansin n’yo, ‘pag gutom kayo nag-grocery parang lahat ng gusto n’yo kainin bibilhin ninyo,” shared the ASAP Natin ‘to star.

Keep Angeline’s tips in mind for your next grocery run!
