We all have childhood dreams that remained just dreams. As for Kapamilya star JC De Vera, his fascination with superhero kids series inspired his wish to become a soldier or a cop. But he isn’t complaining that life made him an actor instead.

In his guesting on Gandang Gabi Vice, JC was joined by John Spainhour to promote their film. John was a Marine Corps sergeant, who fought in the Iraq war in 2008. Fun fact: He was a sniper.

Listening to John’s military stories, JC was reminded of his childhood dream to become a soldier. He said watching action-superhero kids series like “Masked Rider Black,” “Shaider” or “Space Sheriff Shaider,” and “Ghost Fighter” inspired that dream. He imagined the life of a soldier like a fictional series wherein a hero saves the princess.

“Dati gusto ko. Pero ngayon, ayaw ko na. Pwede siguro pang-training lang para sa movies,” said JC. He was also fascinated with the job of a policeman, “May thrill, challenging. Hindi madaling maging pulis ‘di ba?”
