We all love a little throwback especially when it’s all about our favorite ‘90s love teams! In this episode of Gandang Gabi Vice, one of our original favorites Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin brought back the old times!

“Kung wala siyang asawa, liligawan mo ba siya ngayon? Kunwari tulog na si Marc Escueta, hindi niya ‘to maririnig,” Vice Ganda first asked Marvin, who then wiped off the smudge of lipstick on Jolina’s chin.

“Of course, ang hirap naman isipin. Siyempre, hindi mo nararamdaman ngayon kasi may kanya-kanyang buhay,” he answered. But even if the magic is gone, the two remained friends. Marvin said he likes playing with Jolina’s son, then-8 months old Pele, whom she’d bring on set to breastfeed. Marvin also has twin sons Sebastian and Santiago, 9 years old at the time.

They looked back on their first television project as a love team, the youth-oriented show “Gimik.” It was such a huge success that it was also produced as a film later on. After that, Marvin and Jolina starred in the maiden episode of weekly teen-oriented romance-drama series “Flames” that became a twinbill movie also starring the two of them, plus the love team of Claudine Barretto and Rico Yan.

For the ‘90s kids, ‘flames’ was a paper game used to ‘predict’ your romantic potential with a crush. Of course, Jolina tried that when she was young. To bring back the old times, Vice gauged Jolina and Marvin’s love meter by playing F.L.A.M.E.S. with their names, and the result was ‘S’ meaning sweethearts.
