Kapamilya Snaps: The fabulous, avant-garde outfits Vice Ganda wore on Everybody, Sing!

Aside from making the madlang people happy on It’s Showtime from Monday to Saturday at noontime, Vice Ganda also spread good vibes through Everybody, Sing! every weekend night. And after five months of making us sing along, boggling our minds, and enkindling our excitement, the musical game show has ended its sophomore season last February 19.

Over the past months, we didn’t only anticipate the banters and kulitan of the award-winning host with the contestants, a.k.a. “songbayanan,” but also her fashion moments in every episode as she wore creative outfits that match the occupation or categorization of the “songbayanan.” And in this Kapamilya Snaps feature, let’s take a look on her fabulous, flamboyant, and avant-garde costumes that didn’t fail to make us wow.

For the premiere episode in September 2022, she represented the community of beauticians by donning a mini silver dress, knee high boots, platinum blonde hair, and headdress made of makeup brushes. The following night, she looked completely red hot as she shifted to a wavy black bob while cladded in a mini red frock with the word “SALE” emblazoned on it and a studded red shoe at the top of her head – her way of paying tribute to the hardworking mall sales clerks.

To embody the songbayanang kusinero’t kusinera, the Unkabogable Host got creative with spatulas and plastic forks as she incorporated it in her immaculately white and blue OOTN. She then transformed herself into a stylish tindera selling candles, flowers, and bottled remedies as Quiapo vendors played in the fourth episode of Everybody, Sing!

Vice then got herself wrapped in caution and danger tape when the songbayanan was composed of construction workers. She completed her look by wearing a modish reflector, neon yellow ankle boots, and orange wig, as well as brought along a gold shovel and traffic cones as props. The following night, she truly looked pretty in pink as she donned a blonde wig, a pink skirt suit, white necktie, white stockings, and pink Mary Janes. She paired it up with a pink briefcase for her to really appear like a sales agent, which comprised the contestants for that episode.

She definitely looked really regal in her outfit to represent the mananahi community featured in the October 15 episode. She showed up in a black and gold ensemble that came with a giant pair of scissors that cut through her bodice. The following night, she kept it simple by donning a form-fitting little black dress with dollar signs on it and detachable cash sleeves made of cloth on both her arms, which she complemented with a light green wig and shimmering gold stilettos – a creative way to symbolize bank employees indeed.

Just in time for the Halloween celebration, she indeed bewitched us with her costume consisted of a black ensemble that she decked with a colorful funeral wreath, a floral headdress and a bedazzled chest piece for the episode featuring funeral and cemetery workers.

In the repair and service technicians’ episode, Vice accentuated her black and gold outfit with a clock headpiece, a pair of opera gloves wrapped in gold wristwatches, and gold high-heeled shoes. She then transformed into a vibrant character as she dressed herself up in a sleek red, blue, and yellow uniform and braided hair with gray and pink accents during the gas station employees’ episode. She completed the look by brandishing a gas pump nozzle.

More than a month after Typhoon Karding devastated their lives, a few of its survivors and heroes were given further hope and aid as they played in a November episode. Vice further brought joy to them through her flamboyant and perky outfit inspired by the packs of relief goods they perhaps received or distributed. She then turned into a goddess of the seas in her sequined blue suit with an enormous chain and anchor accessory attached to it when it was the fisherfolks’ turn to play on the show.

The Asian Academy Creative Awards Best Entertainment Host went all out during the kambal and triplets episode as she tapped four of her friends to stand as her twins and all of them were cladded in identical shimmering dark green bodysuits, blonde wig, and black stilettos. The following night, she really blended with the drag queen contestants in the studded and colorful suit that she paired with big blonde hair, pink leather gloves, and cute hair accessory.

To honor the Maalaala Mo Kaya letter senders a week prior to the finale of the long-running drama anthology, Vice became a human letter as she wore a red and white dress with writings on its sleeves and upper bust, and complemented it with a lovely red headdress and red thigh high boots.

She then represented models in another episode, by putting on gold bustier, chain and bangles on top of her sheer black suit. She made her look extra fabulous by wearing a unique headpiece and a brandishing a mask. In the next episode, she delighted the hardworking Christmas workers when she transformed into a parol. She indeed dazzled in the mini black dress adorned with glistening white, green, and red studs and made her look extra sparkly by wearing bright white lanterns attached on her shoulders, sleek high green boots, dangling earrings, and orange coif.

Vice was indeed ready to party with the songbayanang bartenders in the voluminous champagne bottle-inspired gown that she donned in that episode. She complemented it with a tulip glass prop and shimmering jewelries. In the succeeding episode, she endeared the community of magsasaka and the viewers by embodying a sweet dalagang bukid through the enormous printed pink and white frock, headpiece made of palay stalks, and blonde wig that she wore.

She truly made the songbayanang traffic enforcers stop, look, and listen with the traffic lights-inspired dress that she accessorized with a red toy car as headpiece, orange reflector gloves, and a “go” sign prop. In the next episode, she showed how ready she was to travel the world with the songbayanang overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in this beige skirt suit reminiscent with balikbayan boxes as it was decorated with shipping labels. She accented it with a beige scarf and a luggage as props.

Being the “rockstars” of our roads, the Unkabogable Star turned herself into a rocker chic during the episode featuring tricycle drivers. She was able to pull it off by donning a motorcycle-inspired fiery dress, red thigh high boots, leather gloves, and kinky orange hairdo.

Since we usually see them put classic “Good Morning” towels around their necks or on their shoulders, Vice drew inspiration from it for the white ball gown that she donned when the contestants were composed of pahinantes or truck porters.

When it was the dentists’ turn to be the songbayanan, Vice transformed into a gorgeous tooth fairy, wearing a sexy sparkly all-white outfit. She made her look more compellingly creative by putting a fake denture on her wig along with teeth-inspired accessories, glittery wings, and cute little wand.

And for the closing salvo, which coincided with post-Valentine’s Day celebration, she became the Queen of Hearts for the songbayanang magkasintahan at mag-ex. Her fabulous ensemble consisted of bright pink hair, a red dress covered with heart accents, and a thigh-high sleek boots.

Which among these marvelous, stylish, and avant-garde outfits of Meme Vice on Everybody, Sing! did you like the most, Kapamilya?

The Asian Academy Creative Awards Best Entertainment Host eventually turned into an actual bag of relief goods filled with items that the Typhoon Karding
