If someone were to ask us today why "Can't Buy Me Love" is specially phenomenal, we can come up with a list of reasons — one is that we are captivated by the genuine chemistry between Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, portraying the lead characters Bingo and Caroline/Ling. Audiences were on the edge of their seats with excitement as Caroline narrowly escaped the security while investigating inside Edward (Enzo Pineda)'s condo unit. Once again, Bingo played the hero by taking Caroline inside a closet. The two got so close to each other when she leaped out of fear at the sight of a cockroach.
They managed to escape, with Bingo asking Caroline to jump off from the balcony, assuring her that he would be there to catch her without fail.
Kilig also poured down, alongside the rain, in that unforgettable scene where they stumbled into a muddy patch. Surprisingly, Caroline didn't panic as she usually would; instead, she embraced the moment and enjoyed playing in the rain with Bingo – this must be love.
In a true rom-com fashion, the pair shared a cute banter when Caroline was so surprised to see Bingo’s ‘bacon brief’ with his initials while helping him with folding clothes. Then, it was Bingo’s turn to show huge reactions when he found Caroline looking irresistibly charming while mopping the floor.
Who else ran out of air watching that ‘bus’ scene where he offered his shoulder as her pillow during their long travel to La Sinfonia? And when he carried her to escape a swarm of bees, our hearts were mixed thrilled and happy. There must be something sweet in the breeze of La Sinfonia that BingLing woke up the next morning in an awkward position next to each other. They were even close to kissing amidst the blooming view and chilly weather.
Although kilig, our hearts shattered witnessing Caroline's vulnerability as she allowed herself to break down in front of Bingo, overcome by the overwhelming longing for her mother. She said that she misses her mom, so bad that it hurts. In a raw display of emotion, she cried out the pain that weighed heavily on her heart and found comfort in Bingo’s embrace.
“You’ll be safe here.” The knight in shining armor saves the damsel in distress. This is the kind of hero Bingo is to Caroline. He will fight every ‘dragon’ that keeps her trapped and just be there as her lifeline.
DonBelle delivered raw emotions in the scene where they both cried in the rain. She was pushing him away, traumatized by the realization that she had placed her trust in the wrong people—her own family. Despite her resistance, Bingo insisted that he would be on her side and that she could always rely on him for comfort and help in finding answers to her questions. She just needed somebody to make her feel understood and safe. To Caroline, Bingo was her comfort and escape.
Stars and sweet promises? The perfect combo for a romantic moment! There was a scene where he asked her to gaze at the stars, proclaiming that their countless beauty would never surpass the multitude of times he'd stand by her side.
Of course, nothing spells kilig more than subtle confessions. Our hearts went “aww” over that scene of Bingo admitting to Caroline that he’s beginning to develop special feelings for her. There was also time they went golfing and he said that he missed her. Albeit so shocked that she almost lost control of the golf cart she was driving, Caroline gracefully admitted that she missed bonding with him too.
