Yukii wishes to work w/Juday Angel Kathryn

She may be a newbie, but Yukii Takahashi has immediately captivated us not just with her stunning beauty, but with her promising acting chops as well as she plays the role of Camille in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo. And just in case you’re one of those who are curious about her, ABS-CBN entertainment news site PUSH had the chance catch up with her and get to know her more in this latest episode of PUSH Bets.

The interview commenced with her experience in working on the well-loved primetime series, which is very fun and new to her. She’s happy to have learned a lot of things with her co-actors and their directors Coco Martin and Malu Sevilla, especially that they do not have an exact script to follow. According to her, the script, which is usually done collaboratively, happens before the take as they discuss the dialogue between the two actors included in a certain scene.

With regard to her portrayal of Camille, the battered girlfriend of McCoy de Leon’s character David, she revealed that since she hasn’t gone through the same predicaments as she is, the emotions she exudes came from both the personal pains she had and of Camille most especially. With her character being a victim of domestic violence, she is saddened and appalled that there are actually a lot of women who experience physical, emotional, and verbal abuse from their partners. While it’s already painful for her as an actress, she couldn’t imagine the immense pain and trauma that it inflicts on those women who go through it.

“It’s hard to speak if you do not have experience, pero siguro at some point in my life, if I’m Camille, I have to realize that I really have to love myself more para I can be loved by someone else. Kasi there is no respect with what’s happening [between] Camille and David, there’s no love. It’s an attraction but there is no love,” Yukii stated when asked for her message to everyone who is in the same plight as her character. “I would tell Camille to focus more on herself, love herself more para [she] can truly earn their respect [based on how you] love yourself.”

Unlike her character, the internet personality-turned-actress is actually not in a relationship at present, as she chooses not to have yet. Being new to the industry, she wants to be more focused with work and seize every opportunity that will be given to her for the meantime, as she believes that having a boyfriend will take a chunk of her time to improve herself and her career. But she wants someone who genuinely “has God in his heart” because he will probably not do anything bad and everything stems from there.

While being in the entertainment scene is a dream for many celebrities that we know, it was revealed that Yukii actually aspires to become a doctor someday. She was supposed to take Medicine at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST), but had to call it off due to their family’s lack of financial capacity to support her studies. Thus, she prayed for her to be just given another path, which was granted after two to three months when premier star-maker and director Johnny Manahan reached out to her to invite her to perform in a TV program after she was discovered on TikTok.

“Now, to be honest, parang ‘di ko na siya sinasagi sa isip ko knowing that it will really take a lot of years of my life. And, of course, now I’m trying to earn as much money as possible, [and] save as much as money. Realistically, it’s hard for that thing to happen. I prefer na papaaralin ko na lang ‘yong kapatid ko instead of me. But I would wanna pursue business because that’s the second place na nasa heart ko e,” she related when quizzed if she would want to still pursue being a dermatologist. Instead, she eyes to take on ventures with passive income, such as bed and breakfast rentals.

Yukii then went on to divulge that aside from FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, she is also set to do other projects that cannot be disclosed yet for now. Meanwhile, when it comes to her dream project, she wishes to try her hand at different genres as she wants to learn further. Moreover, she would to work with Judy Ann Santos, Kathryn Bernardo, and Angel Locsin because she’s a fan of their work ethic and passion for the craft.

The lighthearted and insightful interview capped off with the up-and-coming actress confidently envisioning herself five years from now as a successful actress and businesswoman not just here in the Philippines, but abroad too.
