Bring on the smiles with these epic ‘banat’ lines from Tanggol (Coco Martin) in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo!

Tanggol’s pickup lines are so on point that viewers can’t help but blush the way Mokang (Lovi Poe) does. We mean, imagine a guy as cute as him saying these things. Friday 5 collated his most amusing, romantic, and flirtatious 'hirit' that you may even use to win your crush’s heart.

How do you sweep a woman off her feet? Flash your boy-next-door smile and tell her, “Masaya ako ‘pag kasama ka namin.” Check out the first scene in this video montage for reference. Here, Mokang asked why the lingering stares, to which Tanggol replied, “Nagugutom kasi ako. Gusto kitang gawing kanin at saka ulam.” The ’asaran’ continued and they noticed Mokang was turning red. Tanggol said, “’Pag ito nalasing mamaya, in love na sa akin ‘to.” Riding on the fun, their friends dared them to a staring showdown. We know they don’t usually follow a script, which makes their exchange more natural and hilarious.

When they went to a restaurant looking for Mang Berting (Joey Marquez), Tanggol gave Mokang the menu and told her to order anything. She asked for the place’s bestseller, to which Tanggol answered, “Huwag kang mag-alala. Lahat kami dito masarap.”

The next scene was soused in ‘kilig.” Tanggol asked Mokang, “’Pag nagpakabait ba ako, seseryosohin mo ‘yung mga sinasabi ko?” When she implied that it’d be impossible to see him leave the rogue life behind, he retorted, “’Pag bukas bumait ako, ibig sabihin tayo?” She said, “Sapakin kita.” He hit back, “Halikan kita.”

The king of Quiapo has mastered the art of flirting. “Alam mo, Mokang, tandaan mo ’to, hindi ka uuwi sa bahay n’yo hangga’t hindi nagiging tayo.” The best thing about these seemingly unscripted conversations is that Mokang’s replies also make for a natural segue. She burst into ‘kilig’ smile when Tanggol uttered “labyu” in the smoothest way possible.

In the final scene, Mokang expressed her dream to have a grand wedding. To Tanggol, it sounded like an opening line to craft, “Huwag kang mag-alala, Mokang. ‘Pag kinasal tayo mas maganda pa dito.” He leaned closer and sniffed her cheek, trying to see if he could score a kiss. Tanggol is clearly the life of the ‘tropa’ and the king of ‘banat.’

Don’t miss an episode of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z.
