Tanggol Squad Fights in Batang Quiapo

As many as his enemies, Tanggol (Coco Martin) is grateful to have much more believers who have his back, like his friends Enteng (Jojit Lorenzo), Dolfo (Ryan Martin), Tanos (Marc “Big Mac” Andaya), Bulldog (Sugar Ray “Mammoth” Estroso), and Oweng (Renz “Baby Giant” Benzon) in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.”

Their friendship was built on a strong sense of survival, defense, and attachment. Hurt one of them and you’ll get the whole team ganging up on you, flashing their best fight skills and grit as their weapons. Kapamilya Toplist presents all the times the “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” squad fought together in the series.

Their place in Quiapo is like a hub for chaos and street fights, thus Tanggol and his friends honed their fighting abilities for such occasions. They once put their skills to use by protecting Tanggol’s brother, Santino (Ronwaldo Martin), from his enemies.

The series’ action scenes get even better by flaunting the cinematic appeal of Manila streets. The next round shows Tanggol versus Kidlat (Smugglaz)'s fight, which transpired in front of the Quiapo Church as the latter’s group caught their mortal enemy visiting the place.

Also in this list is the rumble that happened at Mokang (Lovi Poe)’s debut party when Tanggol’s ‘tropa’ fought with the intruders from Tondo. This time, they did it in style – pastel-colored suits, nice shoes and all. What started as a fun and romantic night ended in chaos. Adding spice to this scene was the solidarity shown by Tanggol and his brawny friends, who managed to knock the gatecrashers down.

The arrogance of the rich kids at Mokang’s school paled in comparison to the group’s fighting prowess, evident in the scene where they rescued Mokang from JP (Dino Imperial) and his friends.

The group couldn’t seem to free themselves from scuffles, as they engaged in another gritty fisticuff to defend Mokang from their rude co-worker in the kitchen. The gang used all available equipment to serve the bad guys a taste of their combat expertise.

The string of problems continued when they encountered Greg (RK Bagatsing) and Ramon (Christopher de Leon)’s group in the same hotel they were working at. A big part of Tanggol’s fighting arsenal is his ability to think fast amid danger, which Greg quite lacked, therefore, they dominated the clash.

Together, they also faced Greg and his henchmen, who were ordered by Olga (Irma Adlawan) to search through the streets of Quiapo to kill Tanggol before Ramon discovers his identity as his son.  Greg attacked Tanggol’s family, with Rigor (John Estrada) sustaining gunshot wounds. This provoked Tanggol into a savage crossfire which killed Greg.

Next is the gun battle between Supremo (Lito Lapid) and Augustus (Julio Diaz)’s groups. Tanggol’s squad heard the gunshots near their workplace and decided to come to Supremo and Ben (Mark Lapid)’s aide – because Quiapo kids have this unspoken pact to fight for one another.

In the next scenes, we felt Tanggol’s ‘gigil’ when provoked by the way Mokang was being treated by a perv customer at the club. The lewd club manager Banjo (Eric Fructuoso) got in the mix, but all he got was arrogance and weak fighting skills that were no match with the Quiapo gang’s punches and action-packed moves.

When they were taken to the correctional facility after a series of criminal charges were filed against them, they encountered different people who would either become allies or adversaries. They found themselves in conflict with the “Batang Divisoria” group led by Bong (Vandolph Quizon), who saw them as threats to his throne in the prison.

The “Batang Quiapo” team was brutally assaulted by the “Batang Divisoria” gang, leaving them teetering on the edge of death. They could’ve not survived, had Tanggol failed to unlock himself from a cell and fight for his friends.

Earning the trust of the jail’s Chief Espinas (Jacklyn Jose), they replaced Bong’s group as her assassins, and their first mission to topple down the Red Phoenix mafia proved to be a heart-pounding battle.

Of course, we can’t leave out the time when they joined forces to finish the commotion that Bong’s group ignited during Prison Week. Amidst the chaos, the “Batang Quiapo” squad showed their strong combat prowess and loyalty to one another.
