Augutus was introduced in the teleserye as a high-ranking police official. As the story progressed, his skeletons were slowly revealed to the viewers. It turned out that he was the mortal enemy of Primo (Lito Lapid) and a rival in Amanda’s heart. We also learned that he remains to be one of the biggest lords in the Manila drug trade.

In one scene, Augustus and his henchmen encountered Primo’s group in a drug transaction, which put Amanda’s life in danger. Instead of making a move to save Amanda, his partner, he watched in silence and only cared about the drugs and money. He let Primo abduct Amanda, sure that he could take her back by using her family as lure in case she changes her heart for Primo, the one she truly loves.

Augustus would do whatever it takes to keep Amanda, even if he resorts to threats and physical violence. He would beat her up when jealous. Expect him to spit out threats when Amanda leaves home for her suspicious activities. And while it was Amanda’s own doing that triggered Augustus (love is still so complicated after all these years), his reaction was still so cruel for somebody just trying to protect his territory.

He even killed Amanda’s sister (Via Veloso) and had the latter’s body float in the river. He alerted the media, so that news about the ruthless murder would reach Amanda. He thought she’d be forced to crawl her way back to him. But that didn’t happen.

Instead, Amanda chose Primo until the end. Augustus then made sure to send Primo behind bars. His satisfaction comes from watching his rival succumb to misery, hence ordering his right-hand man to blow up the vehicle of Primo’s group.
With the news about Primo’s death, Amanda felt like she had nothing more to lose. She admitted straight to Augustus’ face that she loves Primo – she never loved anyone else. Amanda had enough of Augustus’ wickedness. She boldly held him at gunpoint as she unleashed every pent-up emotion, not knowing that he was secretly holding a gun under his table. He killed her – one of the most cruel acts of betrayal he committed.
