With the everyday struggles Noy (Lou Veloso) and his family face, finding humor amidst the hustle is a lifeline. Having a good laugh becomes a survival skill, which Noy has learned to master through the years of working in the bustling streets of Quiapo.

Since he is considered part of the family, Noy is aware of the issues surrounding the Dimaguibas. He knows every member to the core, thus he dubbed David (McCoy de Leon) “Boy Tutol" when the latter lashed out at Tanggol (Coco Martin) for taking two orphaned kids under his wing.

In the next scene, exhausting all their means to produce Tindeng (Charo Santos)’s bail, Noy asked Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) to bring their old television set to the pawnshop. However, Santino and Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) weren’t in favor, and he had a hilarious response: “Alangan naman isanla ko ang sarili ko ‘no? Ay, luma na rin pala ako.”

Kicking around ideas on their strategies to earn more and pay Roda (Joel Lamangan), their greedy landlord, Noy commented, “Sana mas dumami ang problemado sa ating bansa." Tindeng and Marites had sharp reactions, to which he countered, “O, ‘di ba ‘pag maraming problema, maraming nagsisimba. O, tingnan niyo, ‘pag pasukan ang daming nagpupunta sa simbahan dahil naghahanap o humihingi ng pang-tuition.” And when people flock to the Quiapo church, they could sell more religious items. But Tindeng had a more positive idea, “Ang hilingin mo na lamang ay patuloy tayong biyayaan ng Panginoong Diyos para mas maraming magsimba.” Noy retorted, “May punto naman kayo.” Then, he looked up the sky, “Panginoon, sana ambunan ng swerte ang lahat ng tao para hindi naman kay Roda lang napupunta ang lahat ng benta namin.”

The trio struggled in the succeeding days as Roda swept all of their earnings. So, Noy asked Tindeng to consult her cards, “Hulaan mo nga kung makakaraos tayo.”

In one scene, Tindeng expressed guilt as Tanggol managed to bail her out by stealing money and jewelry from Roda, who provoked and sent her to jail. Noy assured Tindeng that it was simply karmic justice.

We also witnessed his comedic mischief when he sneakily snatched food in a plastic bag at Mokang’s debut party.

Of course, we couldn’t leave out the scene where he suggested he and Tindeng change careers into snatching and theft, topped with the idea of Tindeng working in a nightclub. “Poong Nazareno, pinag-isipan talaga,” was his reaction to Tindeng’s question, “Palagay mo may asim pa ako?”

When Camille (Yukii Takahashi) shared that David used to tell her how close he is with Tindeng, Noy fused the scene with a stroke of hilarity, saying, “Diyos na mahabagin! Sinabi niya ‘yun?”

Only Noy can verbally strike David’s arrogance with his humor. There was a scene where he showed off his ‘marites’ side and peeked inside David’s newly-built room, saying, “Wow! Ang ganda! Ipa-blessing n’yo na agad parang pinamumugaran na ng masamang espiritu.” And when David shooed him away, he murmured, “Sumanib na nga ang masamang espiritu.”

Even if caught up in a verbal showdown with Roda, Noy proves himself to be the unrivaled maestro of witty comebacks. The two had a short but funny exchange when they bumped into each other, with Noy saying that Roda must be declared persona non grata in their barangay.

From poking fun at Marsing (Pen Medina) and Nita (Susan Africa)’s new looks to their financial rollercoaster, Noy’s witty side comments add a dose of laughter to the scenes. One time, he low-key mocked Nita’s shimmering blouse, jesting, “Si Nita, ginulat mo ako, akala ko naglakad ‘yung Sto. Nino ko.”

Sharing another tête-à-tête with Tindeng, this time, about Marsing and Nita’s fleeting taste of luxury to the couple’s misfortune, Noy couldn’t help but drop some side-splitting remarks, “Ang dating Don Marsing, eh ngayon nagmukhang Don Matsing.”
