Childhood romance speaks a special kind of kilig. It is magical and thrilling, like the kind of connection that Tanggol (Coco Martin) and Mokang (Lovi Poe) share in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo. Kapamilya Toplist rounded up their cutest moments in this video.

Tanggol was playing pool with friends when Mokang entered the scene, nagging him about the recent riot he allegedly initiated. Instead of explaining himself, the smooth-talker smiled and asked, “Ba’t ang ganda mo ngayon?” He volunteered to accompany her to school, drawing teases from his supportive ‘tropa’. His squad added good vibes to this scene, making it look so natural as if it was an actual ‘asaran’ among friends.

While walking to the jeepney terminal, they came across a female neighbor who warned Mokang to not fall in love with Tanggol, “Papatayin ka lang niyan sa gutom,” remarked the ‘marites,’ to which Tanggol replied, “Eh, ito nga patay na patay sa akin, ayoko nga saugutin!” And the way Coco delivered his 'banat' was so charming and rib-tickling.

Of course, the jeepney scene is found in this list. He offered his lap since there were no available seats inside the jeepney, drawing teases from the other passengers. It turned into a sweet moment, with Tanggol pretending that he was just pulling Mokang close so she won’t fall off. While leaning on her shoulder, he reminisced on their childhood days when he would save her from bullies. Cheesy lines like “alalayan nga kita baka malaglag ka” and “handle with care” kept this scene so cute to watch, we were smiling from start to finish!

He loves to act as her bodyguard. He even gave her pervert professor his lesson by punching him in the gut. She was then forced to skip classes, so they went on a ‘date’ around Quiapo instead.

The two give us happy and ‘kilig’ vibes with their incessant bickering. Tanggol drops the ‘banat’ dressed as a joke, which Mokang burns. They would even call each other names. But, after the ‘bardagulan,’ he would protect her from harm and she would appreciate his kindness.

When he sensed that she sincerely appreciated his company, he was ‘kilig’ he asked, “Nanliligaw ka na ba sa akin?” They bantered like little kids, with Tanggol capping it off with an epic “hindi ako easy to get.”

In the next scene, Mokang dropped by the ‘bilyaran’ and lectured Tanggol for yet another trouble. He replied, “Babait na ako kapag kiniss mo ako.” LOL! Instead of a kiss, she gave him a strong punch.

Sometimes rivalry enlivens romance. Tanggol knew JP (Dino Imperial) is bad news when Mokang brought her classmates to their place for her debut rehearsal. He heard Mokang’s intense reminder to keep her classmates off-limits, but instead of bowing down to his queen, Tanggol kept his ‘angas’ and moved his face closer to hers, as if they were about to kiss.

The two had us swooning over their slow dance at Mokang’s party. Nothing prompts ‘da moves’ like a shared moment on the dance floor, right? Tanggol sure knows the drill – holding hands, lots of eye contact and smiles, and, of course, their usual ‘bardagulan’ that kept Mokang comfortable throughout the dance. He asked for a kiss, which she dismissed, inducing an exchange of jokes. “Ito naman masyadong choosy! Alam mo kung saka-sakali ikaw ang unang babaeng makakahalik sa labi ko,” he said.

“Ganda ko ngayon, ‘no? Aminin mo, kaya napapunta ka dito kasi ‘di mo kinaya kagandahan ko,” smiled she, to which he reacted, “Maganda ka naman talaga, eh. Bagay na bagay ka sa kagwapuhan ko.” Cue in some upbeat music! The pair enjoyed the night, letting loose their ‘hataw’ moves.

In the final scene, which turned out to be a dream – or a nightmare, she said – they slow danced as Tanggol uttered sweet promises, sealed with a kiss.
