When FPJ’s Batang Quiapo premiered on TV and digital screen, viewers anticipated another round of adrenaline-boosting action which Coco Martin is known for. The Primetime King truly did not disappoint and even served us with new flavors of fighting style, this time, peppered with more rapid movements and street rumble.

As his character, Tanggol, embarks on a new chapter, let us revisit his most thrilling action sequences via this Kapamilya Update video.

Coco’s new persona is in his element when using speed rather than guns to escape trouble. In the first scene, he ran away after snatching the necklace of a female churchgoer. However, he encountered a group of goons en route to his hiding place. In the streets of Manila, one couldn’t trespass over another gang’s territory. These goons challenged Tanggol to a duel, or else he must surrender the stolen necklace.

Of course, he wouldn’t give up what he ‘worked hard’ for, leading to an epic riot that looked so raw from all angles. He fought the men without any help.

Tanggol was caught up in another rumble in an attempt to save his brother Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) from his opponents in an amateur boxing competition. Adding spice to this scene is the teamwork shown by Tanggol and his brawny friends.

Despite his reputation as Quiapo’s notorious ‘mandurukot,’ Tanggol only fights when triggered, like when his group blocked the robbery plotted by Kidlat (Smugglaz)’s gang. Using only their fists, teamwork, and dauntlessness, Tanggol’s squad managed to knock the enemies down, though he was shot.

The next round of 'Tanggol versus Kidlat' fight transpired during Mokang (Lovi Poe)’s debut party. This time, Tanggol and his buddies fought in style – pastel-colored suits, nice shoes and all. What started as a fun and romantic night ended in chaos.

We felt his ‘gigil’ when he was provoked by JP (Dino Imperial)’s friends. Honestly, as viewers, we were eager to see the arrogant rich kids learn their lesson, too. Well, the weaklings had nothing but swag, which is no match for Tanggol’s punches and action-packed moves. The hero saved Mokang from JP's assault.
