Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo is back! ASAP homies rejoiced as the nation’s one and only Sarah G had her much-awaited ASAP Natin ‘To comeback last Sunday, July 24. Viewers were also wowed with more grand surprises and musical treats from the country’s best performers.
With excitement overflowing, “Can’t Stop The Feeling” blared as the ASAP homies entered the dancefloor. Rock Royalty Bamboo put everyone in a trance with “Dance Monkey”, with Hataw hotties Maymay Entrata, Sheena Belarmino, Jeremy Glinoga, Kyle Echarri, Jameson Blake, Vivoree Esclito, and Krystal Brimner dancing to the groove.
Kyle and Jeremy put aside their dancing shoes and sang along to “Shape Of You” with Concert King Martin Nievera. After that, singing ladies Alexa Ilacad, Sheena Belarmino, and Belle Mariano shined bright as they belted out “Blinding Lights” with handsome crooners Erik Santos and Jason Dy.
Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, Pinoy Big Brother Big Winner Anji Salvacion, and Maymay spiced up the party with their performance of “Señorita”. On the other hand, Power Diva Angeline Quinto and young biriteras Janine Berdin and Fana sweetened the afternoon with their rendition of “Sugar.” Asia’s Phoenix Morissette and Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano further hyped up the crowd singing “Can’t Stop The Feeling”.
To begin the most-awaited return of Sarah G on ASAP, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid with the New Gen Birit Idols offered an explosive welcome and birthday tribute for the Popstar Royalty. Regine captured viewers’ hearts when she belted out “Forever’s Not Enough.” Janine B and Lara Maigue then got everyone grooving as they sang “Tala.” This was followed by the popular bop “Kilometro” sung by Fana and Reiven Umali. Sheena and JM Yosures closed the tribute for Sarah with their moving version of her song “Isa Pang Araw”.
Finally, Sarah G emerged and excitedly greeted the Kapamilyas awaiting her grand return. She enthusiastically expressed how much she missed them after taking a break for quite some time.
“Mga Kapamilya, A2Z, at Kapatid, naku, na-miss ko kayo. Sana na-miss n’yo rin ako,” she teasingly started off.
She then continued, “Maraming-maraming salamat po sa aking mga Kapamilya in ABS-CBN, sa VIVA, and, of course sa ASAP family ko. Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng aking co-performers and, of course, sa lahat ng Popsters na talaga namang matiyagang naghintay. Fom the bottom of my heart, maraming-maraming salamat po sa inyong patuloy na pagsuporta. And now, I’m finally back home – of course, only here in ABS-CBN. Samahan n’yo po akong muli as I once again share my music. Ito ang Sarah G Specials, only here in ASAP Natin ‘To!”
The Popstar Royalty may be the one celebrating her birthday on July 25, but it was her who bestowed us a fantastic treat through a mesmerizing performance of her 2018 single “Duyan”.
P-Pop sibling groups BINI and BGYO then offered a concert-like treat with their mash-up of their respective songs “Lagi” and “Tumitigil Ang Mundo.”
Continuing the jamming session, OPM icons Martin, Erik, Zsa Zsa, Gary, Angeline, Nina, and Jolina Magdangal altogether harmonized Christopher Cross’ timeless classics, namely, “Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do),” “Sailing”, and “Swept Away”.
Trending singer-songwriter Adie serenaded audiences with his sweet song “Tahanan” as a collab performance with Asia’s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan and Pop Rock Royalty Yeng Constantino.
Next, Lyric And Beat star Andrea Brillantes and ASAP’s Queen of the Dancefloor Kim Chiu heated the stage with a fierce and feisty all-out dance performance.
To end the show, the finest singers came together for “The Greatest Showdown” and sang the best music from Broadway Diva Lea Salonga. It was offered by the ASAP family as a celebration of Lea’s solo concert success and upcoming acting stint on the international series, “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin”. Asia’s Songbird Regine, Concert King Martin, Divine Diva Zsa Zsa, King of Theme Songs Erik, and Mr. Pure Energy Gary V one-by-one sang Lea’s songs, namely, “If Only”, “The Journey”, “We Could Be In Love”, “Mula Noon, Hanggang Ngayon”, and “Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal”.
