A few days after PAG-ASA announced that the hot dry season in the Philippines has already begun, ASAP Natin ‘To immediately kicked off the summer celebration on its latest episode on March 20 by treating us to a series of scorching performances that indeed set the stage on fire!

As always, they commenced the episode with an all-star extravaganza as they were all cladded in colorful, summer-y outfits as they sang The Merrymen’s “Feeling Hot Hot Hot.” Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Elha Nympha, and Janine Berdin then got us grooving to Gloria Estefan’s “Get On Your Feet”, with Maris Racal and Loisa Andalio doing the dance break. Meanwhile, Nyoy Volante, Jeremy Glinoga, and Erik Santos unleashed the Ricky Martin in them as they sang one of his hits “Maria”

The tandem of Zsa Zsa Padilla and Yeng Constantino “turn the beat around” as they belted out another Gloria Estefan song, to which Francine Diaz, Karina Bautista, and Krystal Brimner danced. Ogie Alcasid and iDolls’ Enzo Almario, Matty Juniosa, and Lucas Garcia then let the rhythm take them over as they performed Enrique Iglesias’ “Bailamos”, with Ronnie Alonte and Enchong Dee flexing their grooves.

Darren Espanto, Alexa Ilacad, and Kyla energized the party with their rendition of Shakira’s “Waka Waka”, to which Andrea Brillantes and Xyriel Manabat enthralled us with their sexy moves. Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano then literally drummed up the set as he showcased his drumming skills in his performance of DeBarge’s “Rhythm of the Night” along with Sheena Belarmino, AC Bonifacio, and Kim Chiu, who also wowed us with their dancing prowess. The ASAP Natin ‘To family capped off the festive opening number by singing and grooving to “Rhythm of the Night” altogether.

From being hyped up, we eventually found our hearts broken as the New Gen Birit Idols serenaded us with some of the most popular OPM heartbreak songs that literally made us ask “bakit” (or “why”). Tawag ng Tanghalan Season 5 grand finalist Anthony Castillo and Sheena Belarmino pierced our hearts as they sang Jay-R’s “Bakit Pa Ba”; TNT Season 5 champion Reiven Umali and Lara Maigue talked about one-sided love through Carol Banawa’s “Bakit Di Totohanin”; TNT Season 1 runner-up Sam Mangubat and TNT Season 2 grand winner Janine Berdin made us sing along to their version of Lloyd Umali’s “Bakit Kung Sino Pa”, while TNT Season 4 champion JM Yosures and Elha Nympha’s duet of Jeremiah’s “Bakit Ka Iiyak” arguably brought nostalgic vibes.

Kim Chiu, Maris Racal, Enchong Dee, Chie Filomeno, AC Bonifacio, and Kyle Echarri then wowed us with their electrifying dance number that turned the party extra sweltering.

A day after the premiere of his “sweet-com” My Papa Pi that also stars Pia Wurtzbach and Pepe Herrera, ultimate heartthrob Piolo Pascual returned to ASAP Natin ‘To to serenade us with England Dan and John Ford Coley hits “It’s Sad To Belong” and “Just Tell Me You Love Me” along with Zsa Zsa Padilla and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

Gary V’s talented daughter Kiana V then graced the stage of the Sunday variety show to perform her latest single “Heartbeat” and went on to tease us that more music is indeed to come from her.

The jamming session continued as “Soul Siren” Nina and “Queen of Hugot Songs” Moira Dela Torre performed “Love Moves In Mysterious Ways” and “Beautiful Scars” along with new breeds of sessionistas Anji Salvacion, Alexa Ilacad, Angela Ken, Benedix Ramos, Diego Gutierrez, Jeremy G., and Jordan Andrews.

Rock Maestro Bamboo also celebrated his birthday with the ASAP Natin ‘To family by swooning us with his version of Harry Styles’ “Falling”. The kilig went on as the stars of the upcoming iWantTFC original series “Bola Bola” Francine Diaz, KD Estrada, and Akira Morishita of BGYO appeared onstage together and sang “Kapag Tumibok Ang Puso”.

The episode concluded with The Greatest Showdown, wherein the ASAP Natin ‘To stellar singers put their own twists to some of the pop-rock songs we have loved through the years. Gary V sang “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls, Zsa Zsa performed Hoobstank’s “The Reason”, Kyla amazed in her version of Simple Plan’s “How Could This Happen To Me”, Ogie sang Five For Fighting’s “Superman”, Erik crooned Lifehouse’s “You And Me”, while Regine belted out “Lost Stars” by Adam Levine of Maroon 5.

Janine Gutierrez, Robi Domingo, and Donny Pangilinan amused us with their kulitan moments as among the episode hosts, too!
